So, we've missed out on loan signings til January and are now restricted to free agents.

When the takeover completes, which area(s) of the team do you think we need to strengthen?

Also, I've taken the list below off of Twitter (so am not sure how accurate it is). Is there anyone there we should be (realistically - there are some big names on there!) looking at? Are there any other good free agents out there that aren't listed?

I don't know much about any of those players, but I remember Romaine Sawyers being quality a few years back. Must be in his thirties now though and I don't know if he's had injury problems.

A left back and a striker would be nice.

Sawyers also plays in pretty much the only position where we have plenty of depth. LB, another wide option and backup striker the 3 key for me. Seems like there are plenty of decent options.

Ryan Fredericks would be excellent. Hasn't played a lot in the last 2 years though, has he been injured?

Have NGW, Hector and Waghorn all got snapped up, because they were all only just mentioned as being at a PFA training camp for players without a club.

Can anyone with time/knowledge add ages and positions to the list? Useful to know your full backs from your CBs and your RBs from your LBs etc

He was very good at Fulham but is now 32 (I thought he was 4 or 5 years younger), has been injured a lot and, having spent the last 5 years in the Premier League, would probably be too expensive.

Not sure anyone without a club now has much option to be picky. Not a massive fan of us going for someone with an injury record but if you can bring someone like him in on an initial deal until January where he can prove his fitness and either sign on again or move on when we have scope to recruit then yeah maybe.

Hector still available, I would see him as a solid squad option tbh, and he'll have good memories of what the club was having been in the academy under Dolan in the Coppell/McDermott eras, so a good character to have around for our rebuild.

So many names on the list look good, but they all remain unattached for a reason which we probably won't know from a distance. I guess the challenge is for Carey, Selles etc., to understand why and identify those where we're well placed to overcome those issues.

RS/club seem to want a young dynamic squad who have the ability/energy to play the style Selles wants. I am unsure if the free agents mentioned would be on their wish list. However, maybe he would prefer one or two older players, but due to the transfer embargo hasn’t been able to sign any.

Only because of his previous time at Wycombe I could see us signing Onyedinma. I do wonder if Jacobson was involved with Campbell’s signing.

Surely we're approaching our limit of truly green options? If you look at our line up for the past 2 games, only Wing and Smith were genuinely experienced. Pereira has never really been a no.1 before, Mbengue and Bindon only have 1 full season starting regularly under their belts.

Wrexham are a good team, but arguably a team with less talent and more experience finds a way to stay in that game when we were 3-0 down within an hour. Young, dynamic signings need to be high ceiling talents to make the investment worthwhile, and I'd be surprised if any are available. I don't mean the financial investment; I mean the understanding that they will be inconsistent, make mistakes and need to learn game management, all of which will cost us points in the short term.

That being said, we found Mbengue in similar circumstances.

Yeah, we're crying out for experience, not young enthusiasm, we have that in spades.

Hector, as an example, would be a good bench and back up option to cover CB and DM. More of a tough tackling physical DM than the more quarterback Wing and Craig. He could probably even do ok at RB, and getting outlandish you might even be able to use him as a target man.

Very positive and friendly.

We really need experienced back up for Smith too, someone who can be a real nuisance.

Plus a LB and RB. Yiadom isn’t reliably fit these days, and Dorsett is questionable at times. With Abrefa, Garcia and Osho a bit too inexperienced.

Jeff Hendrick?

Anyway I’m sure that list above is a tiny sample of who is actually available. Doubt we’ll bring any of those names in

:D Didn’t see him. Although to be fair he’d probably do ok in league 1

Miguel Azeez is playing in Greece so that list needs updating.

Would take Brandon Williams as a LB. Not sure if he played with savage at Man U. Played 15 times in championship with Ipswich last season.
Hogan or ledapo to provide back up/competition for Smith
Onyedinma would be a good squad addition or allow kelv to provide back up to Smith if cheaper then other forward options.
Sawyers would be a back up if wing picks up an injury or chasing a game and need more options. He probably at his age doesn’t expect to play every week.
I do wonder what level Ali will come back at.

Remember Josh Onomah being one of the future big stars at spurs. Gone off the radar but still a talent in there somewhere

Hard to know what we could offer once the takeover is complete, but apparently Kemar Roofe is a free agent. Very unlikely he'd move to League 1 you'd think, but he'd be a good signing.

Carl Jenkinson is also available following a couple of years in Australia. 32 years old, wouldn't be a bad shout. Has been training at the PFA pre-season camp, so should be fairly fit too.
