It depends on what else is out there for the money we're prepared to spend, but yes I would as he is a million times better than Church and arguably better than Hunt. Doyle and Roberts partnership with Alfie off the bench sounds promising.

No, because he doesn't score enough, one of the main reasons we were relegated

I think Doyle would work well alongside Roberts but I wouldn't be overjoyed to have him back.

We'd need to clear out the likes of Bayesa, Sheppard, Williams and perhaps Church before we even think about bringing more strikers in. Roberts is a better version of Doyle IMO, who since joining Wolves has only proven he can hold the ball up well. Him and Roberts would not work well IMO so we'd be looking at dropping Roberts for Doyle...

Fezza He's looked poor this season but I think it's to early for him to call it quits and resign!

Resign or re-sign ?

Makes quite a big difference to whatever point you're trying to make..............

Doyle flourished in teams that were attacking and doing well. In 05/06,06/07 and the first half of 08/09 he couldn't stop scoring. It's hardly a surprise he looks jaded when he's been part of 4 relegation battles in 5 seasons and half of that other season was in Coppell's final months here when we were utterly appalling and he was carrying a knock.

Now whether he'd want to come and face another possible relegation dogfight is another question but given how Brian has rejuvenated other players in the past I'd bank on him to be able to get the best out of Kevin. He won't have the pressure of being the number 1 man and he's well loved by the fanbase. He also looked great playing with Noel before both picked up injuries so he'd be a natural replacement for Roberts if he got injured.

The lad is only 28 and has plenty left in the tank and if Brian thinks he can do a job then I'm all for it.

Nah...Reading legend but it didn't work with Kitson and Little. He's not looked the same player recently and money could be better spent elsewhere.

Both were bought in to bolster a flagging promotion bid and, to be fair to Little, it was the end of his league career. Kitson was a tad unlucky in his 2nd stint (didn't he hit the bar against Sheff United?) but was only a handful of games so difficult to compare.

His last two articles on SKy sports make it sound like hes angling for a move back.

One bad season won't ruin him, we'd be the perfect place to rebuild. Hes much younger than Kitson and is a more classy player.

Get Doyle back. Can see it happening too if Wolves go down.

The club ethic is VITAL, which is why Doyle and/or Long would be so good for Reading

I could see Doyle as Number 2 to/off Jason, then taking over as Number 1
in 2013-14/15, the wise old head etc. leading the line

ATM we have Jason but no cover for that extra hold-it up target-man class

OPur other players just don't play that role
