You'd be lucky to get ten games between them.

I think that was not Dave - whilst there were grammatical errors, it was nevertheless coherent

Does no-one ever get the impression that Dave-Royal is just fishing? It would take a special sort to consistently give words such as 'won't' capital letters, I wouldn't have done that when I was five

Of more interest, as the possibilities are far wider, is how this will be presented to us gullible fans.

Wycombe Royal
Pepe the Horseman Ennit. We'll need most of that for Adam Clayton.

Central midfield is not an area I would be looking to strengthen first. We have Guthrie, Williams, a returning Karacan and Akpan.

And Kuhl and Tshibola and Hector and Obita

Sutekh We're OK for strikers as well with Pogrebnyak, Robson-Kanu, Blackman plus up and coming youngsters and we know we're ok for keepers and have a surfeit of midfielders with Karacan back for next season so we don't actually need anyone. It's the Reading way.

This kind of depends which formation we play; I like the idea of a 4-3-2-1, which means we'd only need Pog up front with HRK/Blackman/Obita on the left wing (and the former as back-up if Pog were ever to get injured) but I'd still like us to bring in another proven striker at this level (or two)

Is the 10m for this season, or this window? Im sure some clever negotiations could be had. I know it will never happen, but theoretically if we were going to spend big and get someone like Rhodes (who will guarantee lots of goals and is much better than anyone we've had in years) then surely we could agree an amount upfront (e.g. 5m), with subsequent payments (e.g. to be paid in the next window, next financial year, or with clauses if we get promoted or he scores over a threshold) to bring it to a total amount that Blackburn would be happy with. If we can spread the payment in this manner, hopefully that'll allow a chunk to go on other players.

I wonder if we'll have any of the Carico money to spend, or the books will look better with the wage bill significantly reduced? With the sounds of Drenthe going from his posts so his wages off the books, we just need to get rid of other dead wood or money grabbers to sign some good hungry players.

I wonder if Adkins will risk the 2 CB's he has, with Hector and other youngsters covering? RB we have 2x to cover, LB we could push one of our RB's to cover (hopefully only as a temporary), it'll be interesting to see how up to speed Karacan is and if he'll feature early on, when Williams will be fit, so theoretically with Gurherie we have 3x good CM with youth to cover. Cover for RW, and new LW are a problem. Robson-Kanu had a bit of an off season and is a little hot and cold for me, maybe good enough to cover or come on as a sub? But not good enough to warrant starting IMO. Forwards - Blackman - not good enough. Pog - predictable, too slow, not hungry enough, turns slower than milk, lack of pace means he doesn't stretch the play, chase lost causes or create something out of nothing, so get rid. So my shopping list would be:

Left winger (not sure who) needs to be quick
Another LW/RW'er to put pressure on those not up to scratch and for cover again needs pace
2x forwards who can score and have pace. One for me would be Rhodes but that will thin the options for the other recruits in terms of finances but my thoughts are above on that.

Things could be much worse - we could be Blackpool - they only have 8 senior players contracted to play for them!
