WestYorksRoyal I'm resigned to him leaving, but I only hope it's worthwhile for him. You look at Omar Richards and Nelson Abbey so far, and you just think "what a waste". I want to see Bindon showing everyone what he can do at a higher level, not wasting in U21s of a massive club.

Abbey needed another year at least here. But Dai and his actions made it a necessity for Abbey to leave.

His career post Reading currently is looking like it's yet another victim of our esteemed owner.

I just wonder why Nelson Abbey would be had he even completed the season here and playing regularly, let alone still being here. I hope Olympiacos recall him from Swansea in January and send him somewhere where he'll get match time.

The best thing for Bindon might be a move to a Premier League club with him being loaned back for the season, where we can basically guarantee he'll be playing regularly.

Thing is, his great pace got him out of so much trouble at this level. He wasn't actually fantastic at the basics of positioning and anticipation. I'm not sure how well he'd have improved at this level being able to rely on that pace.

Agree Bindon has proven to be the more complete player with a higher ceiling, but Abbey is definitely capable of being a solid Championship player in my view. He won't get there sitting on benches though.

Are we even allowed to negotiate loan deals with anyone right now?

If an incoming buyer were to hypothetically fund the club, I wonder how it would change the calculus. His contract expires in June and it's poor business to lose a player of his potential for no fee or sell on clause. It would simply mean we can bargain harder, but surely he won't stay.

Maybe is about the best guess anyone can give.

The FL let us replace Azeez, eventually. But the takeover has since fallen through. And we've handed debuts to a lot more of the squad, so they now count as full professionals.

Chem Campbell is the canary in the mine on loans. By the strict wording, we have no chance of keeping him.

Think it’ll be judged on its merit. Just have to hope that whoever makes the argument to the FL from the club (and possibly from the Wolves end too) does manage to persuade the FL to agree. He currently has two more games to go (loan expires on 5th January I think) so there’ll be a couple of weeks free before another league game to try and sort things.

I know Akande isn't the finished article, but if we cannot replace Chem, then Akande will be a perfect replacement.

9 days in, and still nothing definite yet.

If he is going to go, I suspect the ownership of club will want to do the business ASAP (to pocket the cash), whereas the Manager (and fans) want it to be as late as possible.

I do wonder if the club is waiting for the outcome of our FA Cup game and subsequent opponent if we progress, as that could have a significant influence on our finance.

And unlikely to want to sell to the first interested club (who would inevitably go low in the hope we’d have to take whatever we were offered.)
As long as we have funds for January I could see us wanting to wait a while and see if several clubs come shopping so we can get a bidding war going.

Would be good to know if there is the extra third year option that we often have with younger players.

Prior to the weekly press conference James Earnshaw and the other local guy go out on Twitter and ask fans if they have any questions, and Bindon's contract was one mentioned yesterday, as were a couple of questions regarding the position with the undersoil heating.

I get the impression that apart from sometimes Dellor they don't like asking any difficult questions.

I think we should expect there to be. Its so common with our Academy players, if there isn't one, it's a major oxf*rd up.

They don't have much pull, given the state of local journalism and media, so it makes sense they don’t want to alienate someone at the club and lose whatever minimal access they and their employer have.

Plus there's just no point asking some questions because they're not going to get answered. Which just causes grief
