RoyalJones Squad Depth:
GK - Al Habsi, Bond, Moore, Ward, Southwood
LB - Obita, Griffin
RB - Gunter, Watson, Long, Dickie, Keown
CB - McShane, Cooper, Gravenburch, Keown, Hyam, Jules, Dickie
CMs - Van der berg, Evans, Norwood, Williams, Kuhl, Barrett, Quinn, Kelly, Gravenburch
Left Mids - Fosu, Quinn
Right Mids - McCleary, Stacey, Barrett, Tanner
Strikers - Kermorgant, Rakels, Samuel, Mendes, Tanner, Novakovich

Some of these players can play in more than one position

Hurtado.

Thought about including him but apparently Stam is looking to get him out the door asap, and his departure is not too far away

“I haven’t seen him yet. He’s probably going to be back within the next couple of days,” said Royals’ boss.

“So I’ll have a look at him and we’ll see what we can do.” (04/07/16)
Only quote by Stam on Hurtado thus far. Not saying hes not going to be sold but its currently just spaculation. May as well not include Cooper in our team sheet as many people expect him to be bought.

The EP was saying last Wednesday that the club will be looking to sell or move Hurtado out on loan so I presume that has come from someone in the club and is not a case of CW trying to make something out of an ambiguous comment.

It doesnt speak well of our scouting team that so many players we signed have been shifted out or are wanted to be moved on.

Either them or Clarke. Or both.

Do we really think Clarke had enough time at the club to have scouted these players? He said he was just sitting on the beach when he got the call to interview for Reading.. My guess is they were already being scouted by the club. But as you say it could well be a combination of both.

He joined us in about December. He had six months before the signings were made and incoming players were clearly his call for the most part.

Oh yes i completely agree its likely he gave his stamp of approval on the transfers I just reckon the targets were likely already in place

Right Mids - McCleary, Stacey, Barrett, Tanner
Strikers - Kermorgant, Rakels, Samuel, Mendes, Tanner, Novakovich

Some of these players can play in more than one position

Judging by this we may need in my opinion:
one more goalkeeper (not essential)
a backup left back (essential)
another centre back (not essential)
an attacking midfielder (essential)
a back up right midfielder (not essential)
a back up left midfielder (essential)
a top quality striker (most important)

Ideal amount of extra signings needed: 7

The goalkeeper looks like it's going to be Jaakkola
The back up left back could be either Ben Coker (we've had 3 bids rejected for him) or we could sign Yun Suk Young on a free
The other centre back could be the resigning of Ferdinand or the signing of Gaston Campi, Mariappa also a possibility
Attacking midfielder: Nick Powell on a free anyone?

Attacking midfielder = John Swift

Source for 3 bids for Coker please? As far as I'm aware we've denied we've made any bids and certainly not a derisory under 100k offer

The Southend manager would appear to be a fairly reliable source.

Article reports him as 25 yet his wiki page says hes 27 (DOB 17/06/89) and google purports him to be 26 (DOB 01/07/90)

I thought we lived in the information era?

Well, that's lots of information, far more than the standard one age. What more did you want?

Thanks. £125k? Are we serious here or just having a laugh? I would have thought we'd be looking more in the region of £400k....

We have to get rid before any enlargement of squad.

If we manage to sign Campi / Swift / Beerens  then I'd be happy with 2 more additions - a full back and a striker. I wouldn't fancy seeing Blackett here. Much prefer ekstrand or someone similar.

Although I have a feeling one or two will leave before the window shuts.

Dare I say it but Stam really does have a squad shaping up for the rough and tumble of next years championship.

Looking forward to the friendlies now to see some of the new lads mixing with our more experienced heads and a couple of youngsters breaking through.
