Ozymandias I pity the fellow already.

68 Pages of will he/won't he sign, "he just what we need" posts.

If he doesn't get a hat trick in his first match, the Reading fickle massive will boo him, and he will be roundly abused on here.

No he won't.

It's only got to 68 pages because of the hilarious 'he's having a medical' joke.

Looks like Rodgers has finally got his number 1 target, which is great news. He'll improve the right hand side, let's just hope he isn't the last player that is signed up between now and the 1st.

Royal Rother We win, we get our man. (Presumably.)

They win, they get the big fee.

Everyone's happy.

Except Reading FC supporters of course who will look for the big negative.

Don't you just love it when a cheap shot scores an own goal?

Well quite - not quite as spectacular an own goal as your overreaction thread from way back when though, eh?

He played most games through the middle, almost as many on the right, and a handful on the left.

When he was through the middle it was more often than not in partnership (in behind as opposed to up alongside by the sounds of it) with another, bigger, more orthodox, centre forward.

Shocked you brought that one up.

Anyway we can all play the "Things You Got Wrong" game.... I still remember from even further back your uncharacteristically optimistic claim that Castle, Campbell and Howell were impressive youngsters who would make it at Reading...

Eh?

Can't recall ever really rating Simeon Howell, perhaps I was f*cked up on Cake at the time. Congrats for remember HNA minutiae from 6 or 7 years ago, do you keep these little snippets in your Outlook?

I'll have to cough to rating Darren Campbell. I was a bit disappointed when he quit football, blacked up and became a top class athlete.

Can't really remember Castle although I do recall he was very good on the trumpet.

Key insight:-

My colleague has worked with Russo on some commercial deals.

She says, he is, (allegedly)

"A little Danny Devito lookaike c@nt who doesn't pay his bills"

So going by that character reference I imagine he is quite hard to do transfer deals with.
