No Hoops Problem is he can now talk to other clubs so they could offer more.

No he can't. He can only talk to clubs where the transfer would be to a "foreign" club (i.e. outside the English FA). He could also sign a pre-contract with them.

He can't talk to English clubs until near the end of the season (it might even be later than that but I can't remember the exact rules).

(this obviously excludes "tapping up")

Lets hope he accepts the 2 1/2 year contract. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I bet if he stays at reading with that contract and shows loyalty, his performance will become more consistent, the fans will love him more and he will become the catalyst for our promotion push. On his day he is the best winger in the league. Massive situation.

People on here are convinced that due to his recent performances, he doesn't want to be at the club and seems 'disinterested'. Let me ask you this, hasn't he been like that ever since joining the club? From the sounds of it, he rejected the offer in the summer because it wasn't long enough - he loves the club.

At the end of the day, it's down to him now. If he signs an extension we can all put this to bed knowing he wants to be here. If he leaves then fair enough, I'm sure Antonio or HRK can step up.

So he can talk to other clubs then. Just not English ones, yet.

Nice attempt at a cover up on your lack of knowledge  (and yes I know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, etc.......)

Because thats what we do, I have seen it many times the club take an age to offer what the player or another club wants (in the case of a transfer fee) then when it's too late they relent and offer it, by which time they have missed the boat.

Because they offered him better money, for a shorter term....

He asked to effectively be made the best paid player in the club, and they said, yes, but only if the deal was two rather than three years.....

Yes I agree we shouldn't just give in, but what we do is say no, no your not having that deal, we can't do it..........oh wait someone else wants you now? Oh ok here you go, at which point the said party says up yours and the boat has sailed.

Because it saved us 6 months higher wages.

Kebe rejects new contract offer and is currently talking with an un-named team from "Europe" :(
