Geekins I think he's allowed extra time off as he was on International Duty with England.
Don't quite get why he needs extra time off for sitting on the Copacabana.

I heard he was in Liverpool for a medical, apparently he caught something unseemly while in Copacabana.

McCarthy wearing 41 in the training pics on the OS. May probably means nothing, but perhaps they've handed the 21 to someone else knowing McCarthy will be off? Can't think why else they's swap him to 41, unless he just picked up the wrong shirt.
He will be 1 but they have to tell Feds first.
