linkenholtroyal ok I am a big enough man to admit when I am wrong we have produced a lot of talent. I was just talking of the times when we bought young and up and coming players like Doyle, Long, Sidwell, Shorey, Leroy Lita, Adam Lefondre. players that have there best years in front of them rather than behind them like Bridge, the Pog and all the players we seem to be associated with now who are over 30 or older. the only 2 I can think of over the last 2 seasons is Williams and Norwood. (i'm not counting drenthe because he hasn't progressed with us just gone awol)

Can't really understand your point.. It's important to sign some players in and around 30 with any squad, as they provide the experience. There just isn't an issue there, our average age is 25.1 - hardly old. Maybe your point is that we don't sign players with their best years yet to come....

We've only signed 3 players this season,
Cox, Ferdinand and Norwood - so 2/3 are good buys there (you forgot Mr. Cox) - and we only signed 2 players last season, Drenthe and Williams - both of which you just said were good 'potential' buys.
As you mention Pog and Bridge, I assume you are counting 2012/13 too, in which we signed Gunter, Mariappa, Blackman, Akpan, Carrico and Guthrie. All young(ish) players, which could easily be classified as having "their best years in front of them rather than behind them"
