Creates one goal from a quickly taken throw in and then another from a pinpoint cross.

It's as if he's reading your criticisms.

If you keep on tossing a coin it will at some stage come down on the side called.
The trouble with Gunter (and Kanu) is that the coin comes down too many times on the wrong side.

I nearly fell out my seat when he took that throw quickly.

He's always been pretty good at bursting past the winger for the overlap high up the pitch too, and I don't think his crossing's awful.

No, course you don't
Ian Royal mediocre defender, mediocre passer, mediocre crosser.

But 'mediocre' is not as bad as 'awful'!

That has to be one of the worst posts HNA has ever seen.

You've provided the very evidence to back up his point whilst arguing against it!

Not in the normally understood version of the English language, no.

of only average quality; not very good.
"he is an enthusiastic if mediocre painter"
synonyms: ordinary, common, commonplace, indifferent, average, middle-of-the-road, middling, medium, moderate, everyday, workaday, tolerable, passable, adequate, fair;

while awful -

very bad or unpleasant.
"the place smelled awful"
synonyms: very unpleasant, disgusting, nasty, terrible, dreadful, ghastly, horrid, horrible, vile, foul, abominable, appalling, atrocious, horrendous, hideous, offensive, objectionable, obnoxious, frightful, loathsome, revolting, repulsive, repellent, repugnant, odious, sickening, nauseating, nauseous;

That's quite a major difference in anybody's books.

Hold my hands up here to misunderstanding the meaning of mediocre.
