Barry the bird boggler
Tilehurst End When would we lose him to the "poxy little island nations with crap football teams cup" ?

The Island games:

The IGA was founded in the Isle of Man in 1985. Its members currently are:

Ã…land
Alderney
Bermuda
Cayman Islands
Falkland Islands
Faroe Islands
Frøya
Gibraltar
Gotland
Greenland
Guernsey
Hitra
Isle of Man
Isle of Wight
Jersey
Minorca
Western Isles (Outer Hebrides)
Orkney Islands
Prince Edward Island
Rhodes
Saaremaa
Sark
Shetland Islands
Saint Helena
Ynys Môn (Anglesey)

so no Malta, therefore we should be safe when the next games come round in 2009 in Ã…land (a territory of Finland)

LOL at malta thinking they are too good for the island games

Ideal Oh come on!!

It's an absolute joke, the guy has played only three times for Malta, has played all his career in Malta except for seven appearances for this Portuguese side, and we're supposed to pay more than one million pounds for him???

IF there is any truth to this it's absolutely shocking. This is not a premier division signing. This is a signing fit for Rushden&D's - not Reading!!

you haven't even seen the guy play yet and your judging him.

Can not be a@@ed to trawl all through this thread but can anyone tell me why this is on the team board and not UG & R?!???

Nothing official from the club yet on anything yet as I can see. Only Agent and Chairman talk.

Feel free to shoot me down if I am wrong.

I am confused - when did we stop talking about Udo Nwoko and start talking about Jimmy Kebe, and why? Or are they both coming here?

Just watched the Nwoko U-tube looks very quick, direct and plays simple passes. Pretty much what we need!!!

Jimmy Kebe has a nice ring to it, perhaps he can play football as well as sound good. Just hope the other guy is not all about "you do" by contrast to "I do".

Please don't tell me that one Youtube clip means he is a great player!!! I think the comment about Mass Sarr sums that view up.(If we had the You Tube clip of his first game against Luton then he could have been sold for £millions)

Still there is no confirmation of this as far as I can see, and to add to that we need someone to come in and galvanise the team NOW, as in 2 games time we will be in the relegation zone with a crunch home game against Bolton.

As far as I can tell, all of those are territories of larger countries whereas Malta is an independent country (1964).

"Kemo Sabe" is in fact apache for "White Trash" so Tonto was always taking the piss out of the Lone Ranger!

Ups and Downs
RobRoyal
sotonroyal Looks like he has alot of potential to me. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously hasn't seen the goal about a minute in

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkutSfteM4w

The only thing I've learned from this video is

"if you want to be rich...you've got to be a bitch."

Interesting.

Not sure about what language the music acompanying that video is but i'm fairly sure, at about 1min 55, it fades out with "Shite, shite, shite, shite, shite".

Hopefully not indicative of the player.

The TV channel near the end of the clip was Bell-End TV :D

Very excited by this signing. This is another player who will help us survive in future seasons if he doesn't have an impact this season. Coppell is sticking to his plan. Signings for the long-term.

Drew_3 Am I the only one who feels worse by this news, rather than bouyed by it?

I very much doubt it.

The cries of "No ambition!!" that reverberated through the fan base on the day we signed Dave Kitson said everything about "informed" opinion within our ranks.....................

On the subject of Udo, I just can't get excited I'm afraid.

I still think (having watched the clips again) that he's made to look extremely good by poor poor defenders. There are hints in there that he has the first touch of Owusu and uses the Bas Savage luckily bundle through defenders approach. I can't see him being anything other than an disaster in the premiership.

The clips do suggest he can play on either wing, he cropped up both left and right plenty of times. Possibly the sort of player who likes to float around.

One thing I will say in his favour. He definitely looks like an enthusiastic trier. I suppose you could compare him to Hunt a couple of years ago, unorthodox but aggressive in his attacking play.

I hope if this is true he shows me up and is a roaring success. I just can't see it and its the first time I've felt like this about a new signing in a very long time.

As someone else said. I'm actually more worried about the clubs status after seeing todays potential developments.

There's nothing on the official site at all. So I'm not passing judgement until it's confirmed.

Bennett low risk, low cost for the future
Mate low risk, low cost for the future ruined by horrible injury
Cisse fairly low cost, for the future showing a few signs of promise now.
Fae fair point

Other than Fae, thats a crap example.
