13 starts and 10 more appearances as a sub and 8 goals. And he is 4 and a half years older than Roberts.

Rubbish, phillips used to be. However he hasn't played regularly in the prem for quite a while. Roberts has.

Completely different types of player, impossible to compare.
I imagine Phillips would be pretty useless at the role we're bringing Roberts in to play.

Only 13 starts then. I'd be hoping to sign a striker who can manage 80mins most weeks and who might get better with time rather than worse.

No, the point I was making is that Roberts will be able to play more minutes because he is 4 and a half years younger than Phillips.
Well yeah, I'd taken Roberts over Phillips if we're talking "one for the future"
