According to transfer rumours website. We are trying to sign Luke Garbutt from Everton.
"Reading FC are close to signing young left back Luke Garbutt from Everton on a Season long loan. Everton have stalled on the release of Garbutt as they believe that they may be able to use the youngster as part of a future offer to bring Shane Long to Goodison Park."

No he wasn't. He played really well under Rodgers at Watford whilst on loan from Southampton so he was always going to sign him. He gave us something different that we clearly lacked last season.
