Don't think that lad will add anything special to our squad that other players could. Wish we would sign established premier league players that are hungry for first team action and have been there before rather than players from the championship we fork out a couple of million for and find that they arent any better than the players we already have.

Will probably prove me wrong when we finish 9th and he wins player of the season knowing my typical luck ;)

Players like that cost tens of millions, not millions, and will be targetting teams after Europe and silverware. Not a promoted side hoping to step up.

Jason Roberts is a prime example of the above, shirley. They don't have to cost us tens of millions. Were we to get Gylfi/Long they wouldn't cost tens of millions of either....

established prem players who are willling to come to us are likely to have been relegated, or are old.

Im not meaning players who will just come in and happily sit on the sidelines with their big pay packets like Owen etc.

Obviously we have seen with Roberts given his lack of opportunities under Kean at Blackburn he had the hunger and desire to get back to the PL. We could benefit from taking players off top teams in the Prem and giving them regular first team opportunities here. Players who instantly come to mind when I say this would be ones like the Joe Coles of this world who still want to prove they can do it. Not the Michael Owen's who think ive near enough done it all in the past and now I have got my PL medals i'll just sit on the sidelines injured focus on my stables while I get a nice pay package.

Mcdermott will pick the right players though I could be completley wrong about Bridcutt and if we do sign him I really hope I am.

The / in this case meant "or" - so, no, they wouldn't cost tens of millions as a player (singular).

players for top sides would much prefer to go to an established mid/lower prem team than come here, regardless of wages.

I have a feeling that this guy's name has been floated the last few transfer windows, is he the guy that comes from round here?

Aye, from Whitley. Has openly said in the past he doesn't support, or like, Reading FC.

That also rung a bell but didn't want to pre-empt it. Did he get rejected by us or something? Seems to have a real thing against us.

Don't think so - started with Chelsea's youth team. We get linked every window.

You're all reading a lot into his likes and dislikes without any kind of sauce

Hes a great player for Brighton, did a great job against newcastle, should be sensible money and he's local.
