royalstu Would love for this to happen, he is very strong on the ball and has a good eye for goal, also wants to impress to make the City first team. I have read though he is very unfit following an illness and his agent reckons he is six weeks away from match fitness.

If that is the case then not worth it as the season would nearly be over.
His name always seems to crop up as a loan prospect rather than as a contender for a first team chance at City with clubs like Sunderland and Wigan mentioned.
We have just over 2 days of waiting to know whether this will happen and bearing in mind that one of our remaining games is v City when he wouldn't be allowed to play and we have 2 games this week,if the above poster is right about his fitness then no thanks,we want somebody to compete for a place from day one IMHO.

If Pog goes hopefully we might renew our interest in Guidetti. With Man City bringing in another 2 strikers within the week, surely he won't get a sniff in the first team? 23 games and 20 goals for Feyenoord and Ronald Koeman saying he has the potential to be as good as Ibrahimovic in the future, I think he definitely needs to be looked at as an option.

The fact that he's only had one season at a club* in an inferior league to the Premier League and, arguably, the Championship, as well as a fleeting loan spell at Burnley, suggests to me that we should be looking elsewhere for our striking talent. Reading between the lines, there's probably a reason why Guidetti hasn't been snapped up by another club since his spell at Feyenoord.

* Should be noted that for four months of this spell he scored a total of 4 goals, all from the penalty spot (sounds somewhat familiar I know, but John Guidetti will never become the quality of player Shane Long is now).
