i dont really know how good he is since before today i hadnt heard of him. he has captained hull city during their promotion year and the year prior and has seemed to be solid at forest. its odd that hull didnt want him in the premier league so they loaned him to forest for the season. surely we would spend money on someone who would be able to defend well in the premier league?

I fear it might not be. He's very injury prone and has issues with his knees I believe.

Yep and went on loan hoping to prove he was over it, and hopefully he is. I'm naively hoping he went off as a precaution or he initiated it... that is truly hopeful I know.

Also interestingly Forest confirmed on their website when they signed a loan deal for him that had had also agreed a two year contract with them that will start this summer. Obviously he can't have signed it because pre-contracts can only be signed on international transfers, but I think that shows what his intentions are....

Bruce said they wanted him on a free, so I assume he was out of contract in the summer. Our "substantial offer" will be unwelcome for them, but they have wealthy new owners, I can't see them not matching it.

Depends doesn't it though? Hobbs is captain at Forest isn't he and won't have to relocate much, if at all, to move there permanently. He obviously is enjoying his time there and knows the set up and will see them as no worse than Reading if not better overall. I reckon he may talk to us out of courtesy but will turn us down and let his contract run down to join them in the summer.

Perhaps Reading realised this and simply decided to put a spoke into Forest's season as if Hull recall Hobbs he can't go back again.

Either way he's injured again by the look of it so we're possibly best off out of it.

a player with a history of knee problems and now a suspected hammy is not unlikely to be gambled on this month. good player tho.
