its scientifically proven that positive people are happier, healthier, and live longer, as well as getting more than their fair share of 'Luck'

Agent Balti Let's be realistic (for once.) We're not in no fit state to challenge this season, we're still in a huge state of transition and probably will be for the entire course of the season.
I don't think we'll play any worse football than last season, but neither do I think we'll actually improve beyond 7th.
Anyone who thinks we should be competing for the title, I think, is frankly deloluded. Maybe we should be, but we're not in the position to due to many factors that we do have to be rational with. So, set the sights lower a bit and enjoy the journey.

I think last year's championship suggests that any team that can get its head in the right place and get some momentum behind them has the ability to challange at the top. I believe that, even with this weakened squad, there is enough talent in it to make a challange IF they are mentally right and all singing from the same hymnsheet. If not, and the senior players are constantly looking for the exit, then we also have the potential to struggle horribly.
Sadly, the offloading of Drenthe completely would be a good step in the right direction.

leonIan RoyalFridaysGhost I just love the sound of people who fly in the face of reality. We have a squad bereft of many of the players who played well last year. We still have unwanted high-earning failures on our books, the only takeover in sight appears to be by a complete moron and whilst our competitors are strengthening we are totally absent from the Transfer market! Which bit of:- We are f*cked this season do some of you not understand?
Players who've left:
Le Fondre? - fair enough, although he wasn't a first name on the team sheet
McAnuff? - fair enough, but he was getting on.
Gorkss? - lol
Leigertwood? - lol
Bridge? - I suppose he was pretty good in his massive 12 appearances.
Carrico? - lol
Taylor? - lol
Partridge? - lol
Ugwu? - lol
D'Ath? - lol
last season's best performers
Obita
McCleary
McCarthy
Pearce
Le Fondre (goals)
Williams
Guthrie (early on)
Gunter
I've probably missed one or two - they're virtually all still here.
We've got one of the best Academy's in the country with a production line of talent coming through to step up. We may find ourselves in some trouble this coming season, I'd say the odds are more likely for mid-table than anything else. We are far from oxf*rd.
Leigertwood was injured most of last season. His last game he ran the entire game and looked back to his best, which was, because Ian obviously you would have seen so many of his games - very, very good. So i think him going is a bit of a loss

Personally I feel positive that next week someone else will do a study claiming the opposite is true.

I am not sure whether it is not scientifically proven that people who are happier, healthier, live longer, and have more than their fair share of luck tend to be more positive

FridaysGhost What happens if you're positively pessimistic?
by CholseyRoyal » 16 Jul 2014 19:16
MmmMonsterMunch I realise I'm in the minority but I cannot wait for this season. Everyone on here was sick to death with the performances of most of the 1st teamers & were crying out for youth.
Well here you go - you got what you wanted. Now man the fcuk up & get behind them.

I would say half a team of our youngsters playing would be equivalent to a struggling div. 2 side at best. Don't get carried away with the idea that these players are anything like ready or able. yet. Thats a complete phallacy and goes with over-optimistic emotions.
