NewCorkSeth
RichTea94 Derby just signed Dave Nugent.

Considering he's pissed off Fulham's fanbase and there being no room back at Derby, could we go in for Chris Martin?

Johnny Russell, Darren Bent, James Wilson, Nick Blackman, Matej Vydra, Chris Martin and now Dave Nugent?
Christ Derby strikers aren't your problem..

(Expecting backlash for putting Blackman in there)

Honestly I think Martin is the best striker out of that bunch. Would be 10 goals easily right?

Having already featured for Derby and Fulham in the league though he can't go anywhere else this season right?

Two (relatively) realistic signings would be Rhodes & Downing. I think getting those two until the end of the season would be a capture.

Both made available by Boro today, though Downing has played 19 games  both match fit too

Although signings like those goes completely against our current policy, by the type, age & cost of them both.

There are others, but these two will be leaving by the end of the window; and will do well wherever they end up.

That wouldn't make any sense given everything about football is geared towards seasons.

Think the rule is you can only have 2 permament clubs, Fulham is a loan so think we'd be ok.

Seasons don't end at the same time in every league Ian so I can imagine there are circumstances where a player can move several times over different seasons in different countries?
The logic is there whether it's the truth or not I'm not sure!
I think it's 3 clubs anyway..

EDIT
Its registered for 3 clubs in a season (including loans) but can only play for 2. There are provisions made for players registered with clubs whos seasons differ. For example we could sign a player from a Brazilian league and play him even if he had already played in 2 other teams in the same season.

Don't be ridiculous.

Messi would get broken in the championship.

Should have a player never to be sold thread, can think of one who is now on the radar of Chelsea but was deemed surplus to requirements here and not good enough lol!!

WoodleyRoyal zac clough

Im with you I would rather spend 3 Million on Clough than the 3 million derby spent on Nugent. Hes young hes tricky and could be the perfect foil for Kermorgant.

Id be happy with this line up

-----------------------------------Ali Al Habsi--------------------------------------
Gunter-----------Moore--------------------Mcshane--------------Blackett
--------------------Kelly--------------------------Swift-----------------------------
Mccleary----------------------Kermorgant-------------------------Beerens
-------------------------------------Clough------------------------------------------

Bench
Jaakola
Llori
Obita
V.D Berg
Evans
Harriot
Samuel

That is an exciting line up and we would have a chance at promotion with the signing of 1 player.

Kelly-Swift midfield would be too lightweight I fear. You need your Williams' and your Evans' in there alongside your Kelly's and your Swift's.

No, Cedric Baseya.

But yes Paul, Antonio was deemed surplus to requirements 5 years ago because he was 5th choice and wanted regular football. It was the right decision at the time but you are right, in hindsight, we could have flogged him a year later for £1.5million to pay the tax man.

We got some money for him anyway a year (2 years?) later when he got sold on by Wednesday. How long are we supposed to keep a fifth-choice player, stymying his career, and using up our limited wages budget in case he might turn out to be worth megabucks 5 years down the line?

Bored of hearing about how we should have kept Antonio. I agree that it was the right decision at the time - for both the club and the player. IMO some people need to move on.
