This is a nonstarter. No way will he drop down a division. At the very worst he will join a Stoke or a West Brom.

I get the impression that Davis is a bit of southern boy who doesn't want to go too far up north. All his clubs have been down south and he's good mates with O'Neil, who it would seem didn't find moving up north to be a good thing.

I doubt there is any mileage in this one but you never know.

I can't imagine Davis is on massive wages though. Maybe by Championship standards yes, but more than our top earners last season? I'd doubt that too much, but as I said in the original post, this would've been a good and probably very acheivable signing had we not got relegated
