Zammo Most RFC supporters think he would be a decent signing and he has shown plenty of promise for teams he played for on loan. The fact that we have shown no interest and he is going to Burnley just shows how tin pot our club actually is.

Out:
Kitson £5.5m

In:
Stephen Hunt's Brother £ F**k all

JOKE.

You're half right, it shows how pathetic Coppell's knowledge of the market is.

Or how restricted Coppell's budget is!

Yes, which is why he's come out in the press several times and lambasted our chairman for not giving him any money as opposed to lauding his backing and going on record as saying he couldn't have a better chairman.

How long will Coppell lovers continue to blame his mistakes on 'lack of budget' when even the man himself has said in the press that he has plenty of financial backing and funds are there?

Tbf, Burnley are the only team interested, so he either ain't that good, or the rest of the managers in the league also have a pathetic knowledge of the market.

No, you see the other managers are busy signing alternatives in other areas. Most clubs have at least one proven right winger on their books, whereas we have none. This is possibly why they aren't after Eagles, although I'm sure they're pursuing other players. After all, we were the only team in the Championship not to have signed anyone prior to the arrival of useless hobbit mark two.

So just to clarify,

We sign a player that nobody else was apparently interested in and that (for some) is a bad thing.

Burnley look like signing a player that nobody else are apparently interested in and this is good for them but bad for us.

Slight inconsistancy in thought pattern there.

I'll repeat my original statement....

"Most RFC supporters think he would be a decent signing and he has shown plenty of promise for teams he played for on loan".

He looked rather decent on loan at Sheff Weds, so can clearly do a job in the Championship. I'd rather have him than the Burns-type signing of Noel Hunt.

I'll highlight the major flaw in your original statement.

And his more recent signings are as follows:

Cisse
Fae
Kebe
Sodje
Bennett

Cisse..........good squad player

Kebe...........give him time

Sodje and Bennett...........Good, low risk, squad players

I take it you knew about Doyle, Lita, Convey, Sonko etc. before we signed them?

The lack of respect from some fans for our greatest ever manager is truly staggering.

Cisse - which game did he become a good squad player ?
Kebe - Fair enough
Sodje and Bennett - see Cisse

Oh, I forgot about Halford....and Fae ?

No lack of respect for Coppell from me, but can I not criticise his recent transfers ? Do staunch Labour supporters agree with every single policy.....?

Course not but to label the club a joke and tin pot after its first backward season in half a dozen on the basis they didn't sign a player that only Burnley seem interested in is a bit shortsighted in my view. As is using RFC supporters as a guide for anything really. These pages alone should tell you how little we all really know about the game.

As for Chris Eagles... well i thought he looked useful when on loan and he could prove to be a fine player at this level. On the other hand its equally likely he could turn into another Luke Chadwick or Ben Muirhead amongst others. I'd rather we give our own young England Under 19 international the opportunity to show if he's good enough before taking young players from elsewhere. Once again just my own personal preference.

Even bigger LOL at it probably being the case seeing as I predicted we'd go down well before Christmas and stressed the need to sign players with Coppell still believing it best to stick with what we had.

In fairness, I pretty much agree with all you say. I guess, like many others, I do not want to see RFC go into freefall (which can happen after a quick Prem experience). Sadly, recent signings have not been a success and the continual signing of unknowns may prove to be the club's downfall.

ALOL. You really do believe it don't you?

Didn't someone list your predictions for the 2005/06 & 2006/7 season the other day? Don't think they quite confirm your status as footballing oracle do they?

Given that in both instances the predictions were taken in pre-season and the 2005/6 prediction was taken after we'd signed only one player after releasing seven, I don't feel these quotes were a reflection of what I said at the beginning of the season.
