Platypuss
Arch More likely what's meant is that Blackburn get 50% of any future sell-on fee. We negotiate, say, a 20% sell-on fee with Carlisle and when that kicks in they split it with Blackburn.

Yeah, that too. :|

:oops: I was thrown off by your example of a 50% sell-on fee.

If that kicks in, then Forest have him.

I'm not unhappy that we didn't get the guy (if we were even genuinely after him of course) for the following reasons;

1. He has one decent season with a League 1 side, no guarantee that he will be good enough at the next level.
2. He has had by the sound of it a very serious knee injury; may take time to recover and then always be vulnerable to it going again.
3. Attitude - the Carlisle chairman made it clear that THEY didn't tell Forest of the clause in the lads' contract, making it clear that the player (through his agent) did. That doesn't auger well if he has a goodish season at Forest, as it implies he will be agitating for a move away as soon as possible.

Once he has scored 25 goals as Forest storm to the Championship title next season, please feel free to regurgitate this post!!

The one I am disappointed about is Sam Vokes who went from Bournemouth to Wolves for an undisclosed fee but thought to be around £500,000,especially as we have sold Kitson.
This lad has broken into the full Wales squad at just 18 and scored goals last season in a relegated side and is a strong player who might have fitted into our front line better than the little Hunt.
Unlike Garner he is fit.
Presumably the club didn't rate him enough because you would have thought that having loaned 4 players to Bournemouth last season we might have first option on anybody decent.
Over the coming seasons it will be interesting to see who progresses most out of Vokes,Garner and Hunt although Hunt should have the immediate advantage of being 25 compared to the youth of the other two.
