We may be willing to offer more now. Especially seeing as our problem so far has been that we are leaking at least 1 goal in most games.

I disagree. Reading FC have stated in the past that they will walk away if a club are not prepared to do business, as in the case of Dean Whitehead at Sunderland.

That they appear to be revisiting the Mensah situation suggests they haven't been entirely rebuffed by Rennes.

The Premiership new boys had a £3.5million bid turned down for the Rennes centre-back during the summer.

But Steve Coppell had Mensah, 23, watched once more last weekend.

Not at all, what with DLC and Mensah playing in different positions. Anyway I would say DLC has been fairly solid given his lack of 1st team football. Improvement is needed though for sure.
