Maybe because there hasn't been a bid for him.

Why should that matter? With Colin in charge they'll always be after strikers.

THey are in desperate need of strikers as they only have 1 or 2 at the moment. He seems to have been getting rid of them at Palace rather than signing them. They have only scored 2 goals in 5 matches this season and both of those were against Hereford.

Haven't we been here before? And remember what happened then - CP beat us 3:0 and CP got promoted at the end of the season. Those were the days when the bald oxf*rd was still playing for CP.

Coppell won't sign him because either:

A) He doesn't fit the attitude or criteria we look for in a team player

B) Our of our pROFlice range

C) Contract demands too high

D) Hammond is too lazy to actually buy a decent fcuking player instead of ringing up Cork city and telling them to send over there best player.

He doesn't get a say, that would be Simon Jordan's authority. That said, he doesn't like us much either.
Besides, why would ben watson want to come to us? Why make a sideways step?

Robbie Keane did it this summer

Why not?

Seems a bit of a dead thread given that we'll get no business out of Palace for the foreseeable.

F) We just wont spend £2m on one player at this level.

I can't believe some on here really think palace would refuse to do business with Reading on Warnocks say so!!

Reading are interested in Watson but are unlikely to do anything unless pushed into it through the loss of other players e.g. Harper. As mentioned above the biggest problem with any deal would be that Palace's management have a bit of a history with members of the Reading management and therefore we would probably have no choice but to pay an over the odds sum for the player which is not something the club would do. Therefore, IMO, the chances of this deal happening are minimal.

Exactly. There will only be hope of this going through if we are to lose a midfielder.

We will never get Watson while he is at Palace.

Our approach was rejected out of hand.

They wont do business with us.

Could be as said already, the Wally vs Warnock thing (I doubt it)

More likely Jordan disliking Coppell maybe.

But either way, never gunna happen.

Give 'em both hell on Saturday!

I wish people would get over this 'Ben Watson' thing. It reminds me of the Jason Koumas thread a few years back. So many on here were desperate to sign him and when it didn't happen there was much foaming at the mouth.

So far I have seen the very same people who are very adament we should sign him describe him as everything from a defensive ball winning midfielder to a creative player with an eye for goal. It all leads me to conclude that not many have actaully watched him play or in fact know how good he atually is, but as he is a reasonably high profile player on the market in Champsionship terms, then it will be a disater if we don't sign him.

Jordan does indeed not like Coppell. He's also a smug, egocentric. Surprised he doesn't get on better with Mr Mad to be honest.

Maybe Madejski should leave and you can go back to watching League 2 football with the few hundred other retards blaming Madejski for Coppell's lack of bottle.

I don't recall us ever playing in League 2. I do remember Division 3 however.

And for the record, I enjoyed football far more back then!
