The 5M for hunt would fund the 4.1 for Taylor plus agents fees, etc...

Would Sunderland really need both Hunt and Taylor?

We should be looking to ADD and STRENGTHEN the current squad--not weaken it. Hunt is probably player of the season at the moment, so what's the logic of getting rid!

No logic.

So he's more than likely off then.

Coppell has said time and again that Sunderland can come asking and the answer will be the same. Why should this be any different?

Depends what sort of money Sunderland offer. If they make an absolutely stupid offer, then every player has thei price, and considering its Sunderland, thats not entirely out of the question.

Also worh remembering the SC has said that if a player does not want to play for the club, it is btter for them to move on so Hunt does have a significant say in all of this.

But after saying that, tI still expect him to be at the club at the end of the seaon, but nothing surprises me in football anymore.

and i've said time and time again, Taylor has said he won't move North and Sunderland the ars* end of the country so can't see it happening.

Not that anyone should believe what i said compared to Sir Steve!

He has categorically come out and said Hunt isn't going anywhere.
Change that and Coppell begins to look slightly foolish.

He's also said that he won't stand in a player's way if they really want to leave.

Take your pick.

"Categorically" is only what some posters on here have thought he said

Is this categorical? I think not

"The reality was that they made a bid but we would like our core players to be happy staying here."

Copps has been on SSN all this afternoon saying the Hunty is going nowhere.

He sounded pretty definate to me.

Hunty will still be a Royal on Feb 1.

Probably.

That was last week's.

Today's is:

"He has got a contract with us and he is a top professional. He'll see his contract out, and if there is any change in that we shall let you know," he told Sky Sports News.

"We don't have to sell any player for the money. We don't have to do anything purely on a financial basis.

"He's not going anywhere."

Our Steve is very good at having a foot planted firmly on each side of the fence, it seems.

*Ahem*
She.

The interviewer said "Definately?" Coppell said "For definate".
Or something that conclusive.

Looking at the Sunderland forum, they are still adamant he is going to Sunderland and that he wants to, and that Coppell saying No is really Yes.
They compare it to Saha's move to United and Fulham's responses, saying the player wanted to go.

Fulham to Man U > Reading to Sunderland;.

After yesterday's performance by Richardson why on earth would Sunderland splash out £5million on an inferior left-winger?
With Sidwell supposedly soon on board and after yesterday's performance it looks as though Sunderland will make a fight of it for the rest of the season-hopefully we will stay 2 points ahead of them all the way.
