For god's sake Reading make a move on this and put an end to the worst kept secret move of the summer (apart from Ronaldo of course)

Not totally unconnected but this could explain why the Blunts haven't signed Tommy yet

So, in other words the only club to offer 1.8 million for Smith
was a club WITHOUT ANY MONEY...

Seems about right.

Now which offer is "derisory"

(a) Here is a million or so, actual money

(b) Here is a pretend 1.8 million.

According to that page we appear to be 2 places off relegation. As good a reason as any for Mr Mad to help Brenda out and splash some cash.

This has got huge LOL potential.

Watford must be pig sick at this news. Not only does Smith not want to go to SU (apparently) but the club who made the only bid acceptable to them for him don't have the money to back it up.

I suspect Smith will be a Reading player soon, for an "undisclosed fee"...

maybe there is a conspiracy theory involving the participation in sheff utd upping the anti (fee for smith) that we would pay. both clubs dont exactly hold us in the highest regard

Since Colin moved on, what gripe has there been between us and Blunts?

Perhaps they are waiting for £5m or so from Everton for Kyle Naughton and that deal dragging on not helping their "cashflow"?

Plus the yids are on the scent as well so that could stretch things a bit longer

Do I really?

Watford called our bid of around £750k derisory. There have since been rumours we will make an increased bid of £1.2m. This has not been confirmed anywhere official I can see, and is certainly not the bid Watford labelled derisory.

I say again, since when has £750k been "a million or so"? I'd have thought with your love of numbers you'd be keen to be more accurate.
