FiNeRaIn Its debatable whether he's good enough for the top half of the prem. He's gone missing for wolves in recent times and he went missing in our relegation season, he's not a proven player by any means and is less than prolific. lol at the idea of Arsenal. He works hard but is a bit of a poor mans dirk kuyt, lower half of prem player IMO.

Agreed on the Kuyt analogy. Still would welcome him back here with open arms.

Snowball Church ... isn't that far off being a 20-goals a season Championship striker if he played 46 games.

1,503 out of a possible 3150 Minutes 07 Goals 215 Minutes 7 Goals CHURCH

currently 7 out of half the games.

doesnt seem that much of a stretch, statistically at least

They will need a reasonable Championship striker. Church has 7 goals this season, may well get ten
and that is only playing about half the possible minutes, and in a side where goals are hard to come by
so he isn't that far off being a 20-goals a season Championship striker if he played 46 games.

1,503 out of a possible 3150 Minutes 08 Major Contributions one every 188 Minutes 7 Goals 1 Assists CHURCH

1,503 out of a possible 3150 Minutes 07 Goals 215 Minutes 7 Goals CHURCH

They are not bad figures, and he's still young. Fully likely he will get a 20-goal Championship season

Had he played all games, he could well be on 14-15 goals by now.

Didn't you say something similar regarding some bloke called Shane Long?

Might've...

Point is, this season we have deliberately played a tighter, less free-scoring type of game, so ALL the strikers are scoring less.

Second, we've moved the players around a fair bit, with none of them managing to become an automatic choice.

Thus Hunt-Church-Le Fondre-Manset-HRK have all played up front, and now we have Roberts, so naturally they are going to have less goals per person

Lambert at Southampton has 21 league goals, but he has played almost twice the minutes
and in a free-scoring, open-playing side.

If you give him supply and confidence he'll score. If you leave him to feed off scraps he'll contribute with hard work, but won't score many goals. I don't think he's top six calibre, but for a decent team that can put decent play and chances together he's a 10 - 15 man in the Prem. Which is pretty fair going IMO.

He'd do alright at a club of the sort of size of Everton, Villa, Fulham etc IMO. Sometimes they struggle, but usually they're mid-table to top half. He'll certainly do better in a team that isn't in a perrenial relegation dogfight.

I quite like this list on the rumour site - some of these players would improve us but as he makes the total 5 players (obviously unable to count to 9) but I would be very happy to see Rodriguez, Gylfi, Clyne, Phillips and C Davies here though.

As a Reading fan iv heard loads of transfer rumours allready and the only one with any truth is the Glyfi rumour. I hav been told that we hav a list of 5 players that Brian wants and they are
Jay Rodriguez
Chedwy Evens
Gary Hooper
Matt Phillips
Kyle Naughton
Nathayal Clyne
Glyfi Sigurdsson
steven Davies
Curtis Davies

Jay Rodriguez...with Church going the other way

by MmmMonsterMunch » 29 Apr 2012 19:09

Apologies if already posted but couldn't see a thread for this one.

Burnleys Jay Rodriguez on verge of a 5M move to Reading with Simon Church on to Burnley has part of deal.

Would be happy with this!

Newcastle should be setting their sights a lot higher than this. I don't think the boy has justified a £5m transfer fee yet, and I don't think it's fair on Burnley to send Church there..

Would like this but as i've said before - using phrases to make a post sound like a line from the Sky Sports News ticker does not make your post any more credible

Word for word on Football-rumours.com, so basically an excitable kid made it up.

We are the Royal county, but I doubt this is what they meant when they said he would be at Her Majesty's Pleasure....
