Friday's Legacy Clubs have talked and we have suggested a fee we would be prepared to pay, but no official offer has been made.

thats great and all, he will be a winger for the future, but i have to say we need a striker NOW. wouldnt it be more prudent to get a striker. ? or is zaha the midfielder that were after and were still looking for a striker? rhodes looks unlikely and the other target were after seems unlikely too. i hope we have a backup striker in mind!

Zaha likes to play both on the wing and in strike, but he's probably best as a striker and I think that's how we'd use him if we did buy him.

He scored 6 league goals last season, less than Church who had 7 and hunt who had 8 :|
he also got 4 league assists which is the same as HRK, Jobi McAnuff had 11

I know he has big potential but i would much rather have someone a bit more proven.

FL, if you are actually ITK are you able to explain why we seem to conduct transfer negotiations in the style of a 12 year old with a crush on a girl?

The gap between our valaution of the player and Palace's is probably too big to negotiate (at least 5M difference), so unless one side gives considerable ground, then this one is dead. It doesn't appear we are banging on the door too much with this one, but he if became available at the right price we would be in there. Seems the club have their business sorted and can afford to be reactive as opposed to proactive in the transfer market.

i agree its gonna probably end up like the jordan rhodes scenario.
reading: well pay _______________ much for him
Crystal Palace: well we wont accept a bid under (ridiculous price that he is in no way worth)

And despite that exchange taking place, this will officially be "no bid was made" - because no formal offer was made.

The fact that Palace want 7million for him and we won't go much above 2million means no official bid will be made.

Friday's Legacy What is proving a little tiresome however, is people like you who don't seem to think I can post an opinion; and everything has to be something I've heard. First and foremost I'm a supporter, and I like to share my opinions as anyone else here does. It really shouldn't be so difficult to distinguish from the two.

As I've said before on here, I'm of the feeling that you do get some good 'inside information' from somewhere, and on top of that you obviously like to collate a lot of information out there in the public domain. You do a good job of putting it all together, mixing it with what you've heard from your source(s) and giving what I think is a pretty decent view of the reality.

Some people seem to struggle with the idea that things change a lot and that there's a lot of activity that goes on that doesn't result in a deal (or even an offer that the club doesn't deny). I wouldn't worry about those who can't see that.

In terms of the bit I quoted above, I would suggest that perhaps you make it a little clearer over what is your opinion and what is information from your source or public domain stuff. It doesn't take a lot of effort to word it clearly, and I would say that sometimes your posts come over a little 'all telling' and as if everything you post is fact (it may well be your sources perception of fact - ie the Watford smokescreen about Mariappa when it seems they had actually rejected the bid (from my sources point of view at the time at least)). That will possibly be why you get called up on some of it and why some might not be able to tell the difference between your opinion and your passed on facts.

Personally, I'm not so sure all of those signings were his 1-7 on target list .....

Of course he can, I didn't say he couldn't. All I'm putting forward is my view on the source of his frustrations with the way other posters sometimes react to his posts.

Apologies if that isn't allowed either brendy.

As of last week we hadn't made an offer, but we had spoken to Palace, and suggested we would be prepared to pay a great deal more than that. I'm hoping to hear more this weekend. He's a very reliable source.
