Leicester signed Powell on a year loan, alongside another Man Utd player (no idea who he is), plus Cambiasso. Seems a bit odd we couldn't do a deal for Hammond - not necessarily needed but probably slightly surplus to requirements at Leicester now.

Probably got a view to loan Hammond if we're that desperate to get him. It's a good strategy to have to get us over the line with the takeover before over committing ourselves.

Seems to me that our interest in Norwood only appeared when the Hammond rumor waned. I sort of had the impression that we got Norwood instead of Hammond rather than considering signing both.

I don't see we need Hammond, yes we have central midfield injuries but with Norwood coming in, Kuhl, doing well, Akpan and the others coming back, we seem well stocked for competition in that area. I would have said a left back is far more important to allow Obita to push up the pitch.

I guess I am in the minority who thinks that Obita looks better as a left back than he does as a wide midfielder or winger.....

We need to loan in a centre half and a left back then we're sorted once everyone is back from injury

Definitely does. In my mind it wouldn't be a disaster if in the loan window we could get in a LB if Obita's going to be needed to cover the midfield, or a midfielder so that Obita can drop to LB. I'd rather have Obita at LB with Blackman in front of him, than Cummings and Obita on that side. When all are fit, that is.

Cox, Mackie & Ferdinand add squad depth, Norwood & Murray add real quality. If i was told we had to lose 3 of our top players in the summer to raise money, i would have honestly chosen McCarthy, Morrison, and Le Fondre. So i am content with the window, but would be nice if we could bring in some quality loans to cover injuries.

Just hope the club can get the likes of Gunter & McCleary tied up to new deals before January and the future would look bright.

Also shifting Drenthe is a massive bonus.

Cooper has been fine, so with Pearce Hector and Ferdinand I don't see why we need a CB.

Not for the taxpayers though who footed the bill for the RAF rescue winch team needed.

lol Cooper has only played 8 mins of football in the Championship - how can you say "he has been fine"*
Ferdinand hasn't played at all and Hector is better in midfield than he is in defence.

*please don't say cos of the game against a poor League One side

Is that the guy who refused to play, to force a move? Yeah, get him back, he seems nice.

He's warmed the bench quite adequately. Although Gunter can play there if necessary too, so we've got some back-up.

Guys - I agree with you, I think he looks great there and gives us good balance. My worry is he does not see himself as a full back and wants to play further forward which could lead to him getting frustrated which at the moment is not something we need with one of our prized assets...

Charles Watts said he was warming to it, so who knows!
