I'm pretty surprised that we still haven't brought in a more experienced and capable centre half and that we having to make do with a midfielder there (perhaps Stam has always thought of him as a defender and it was why he bought him?).

I'm also pretty amazed that Marriappa is still without a club. He'd be a good fit for us, even if they do say you shouldn't go back. You have to wonder if there's something the football world know about him that we don't or perhaps it's just extortionate wage demands that's keeping him on the dole.

We are getting Moore, possibly Blackett and have just signed a new DM.

Compared to the big ex-premiership clubs our squad is untried, compared to the mid-section clubs, our team is still being built. Our Manager has a formation, a way to play and an idea of who is needed to produce a better team.

We were a basket case after the last few years. I can see the building that is going on to stop that.

RFC is still a team in progress and, if you listen to fans through our pre-season and first few matches, only the Wolves game was complete Cr*p!

As long as, within our money constaints, Stam can fill the positions that we need filled and as long as he can keep the team with him, I believe that we are seeing a new horizon.

A late run to the upper part of the Champ. this season, a stunning season next time .
