Wayne bridge is an old big name. Not slating him, I'm pleased. but he wasn't going to playing in the Prem

The Dutch messi is a sandwich short of a picnic and i think we can conclude from his shear joy at signing, that he wasn't swamped with offers. Its a risk.

Hooper is a different kettle of Scottish salmon.

I don't think it is happening, but if anyone wants a precedent, Chris Coleman dropped 2 divisions from the Premier League when he joined Fulham from recent Champions Blackburn for a big fee.
