Stranded Twitter made up bollocks but allegedly we are going to send Drinkwater back and bring in Luka Milivojevic instead.
Would be quite happy with that, so it's naturally bollocks.

Hound So Bournemouth potentially signing Cantwell and Nat Phillips on loan; plus Kieffer Moore for 3.5m
Good to see those parachute payments balancing things up, as I assume it’s not being funded via their 10k attendances

Stranded Whilst I agree with the sentiment re parachute payments and their impacts - to be fair to Bournemouth since relegation they have made 120m in transfers and purchased around 30m worth of new players - so approx 90m up in transfer spending.
Wages will naturally be unsustainably high but even without the parachutes they could well afford this level of spending for a year or two.

YorkshireRoyal99 On another note, Chancel Mbemba has been spotted in John Lewis. Coincidence?

All the same weren't they using the same approach to get promoted in the first place?
Said it before that parachute payments in any division should be scrapped and it should be made compulsory by the authorities that every player contract contains clauses that stipulate specific percentage wage reductions if a club is relegated.

The EFL are adamant that parachute payments stop clubs from going bust, however, as you say, providing release clauses/wage drop clauses were mandated in every contract a) the wage bill would be significantly reduced and b) players wouldn't get offered as much money in the PL either, so it would all have a knock on effect.
Another alternative could be that parachute payment money should be excluded from calculating Profit & Sustainability losses during any 3 year period.

Yes they probably do help clubs stop going pop but only those that get them - the issue is they, at least tempt, other clubs to overspend to match the clubs with the payments.
Could they maybe tweak them to say that a payment is a max of X and can only be used to cover wages of existing players - any new signings would need to be financed in line with other clubs in the division.

Bournemouth are thrilled to announce the signing of Nat Phillips on loan until the end of the season.
Surely shuts the door on any lingering hopes that #ReadingFC had of signing Rhys Williams on loan.
Liverpool wanted to keep Phillips or Williams as fifth choice centre-back and the former has now left.
