winchester_royal RE: Connolly

If we can get him for 900k then it will be well worth doing. He's a good age and decent quality, and will be good cover.

However, we need more than just 'cover' signings, so hopefully he wasn't included in McDermott's pre-season 3.

quoted as saying we'll be bringing in 4 or 5

Indeed, but he also said he hoped to have 3 of those signed up by the start of pre-season

Generic rumour but from a decent source, that we're after a midfielder from Valencia, who it is I don't know.... least the fact we're after a midfielder from Valencia is believable now! :D

Being linked to the same players as Sevilla, Roma and Malaga... we've come a long way

Now Blackburn have beeen relegated ........ any players who instantly come to mind that we could add? I know a couple have already been talked about.

Names already mentioned:
Yakubu
Pedersen

Other players that may be available at a decent price that we could realistically buy:

Gael Givet? ? on wages

Jason Lowe - Supposed to be a very promising right back could compete with Cummings

David Dunn - Good experience though his loyalty to Blackburn may be a setback and the fact he is injury prone at times.

Nzonzi - Very big physical presence about him maybe what we could be doing with. However I recall Chelsea being linked with a big money move for him in January not too sure about the price Blackburn would let him go for but imagine he will not want to spend a year in the npc.

If we could get Hoilett then ok (no chance, by the way) but the rest are a bit meh.

... out of contract in June, Carlos Sanchez has not yet dispelled his doubts about his future. The 26 yr old Valenciennes midfielder is being tracked by Roma and by other clubs such as Reading in England and Seville and Malaga in Spain . The Colombian told 'Market 365': "Everything is possible, I have no preference between staying in France or to have an experience in another country. There were some contacts, but nothing has been decided. "

July 1st however we can announce signings before then I think they just wouldn't become officially our player until then.

Thanks, I will take that as Fact, rather than Speculation, or Rumour.

Addressing a potential right back issue seeing as we have no back up!

I know we already had him at our club although he never got a chance. Greg Halford?

Can play anywhere down the right and would be a very cheap buy probably considering Pompey's plight. I know they went down but Halford himself had a quite a consistent season. If we actually gave him a run in the team now SC has long gone might be a worthwhile buy not forgetting that monster throw of his!

Wasn't a bad player at all he just never got a chance because Coppell was far too loyal as we all know although we were playing brilliantly during our first season in the big time!
