Tokyo Sex Whale Make a fools bid for Ince and appease the fans in the short term.

Fans get annoyed and realise we still haven't actually spent any money

Sign someone sh*t from Sheff to make the fans thankful we acted quickly to get someone at the last minute after our failed "£7m bid".

Release statement about how we signed four exciting players and lots of activity occurred, we're planning for the future and have a sustainable model.

seems alot of bother for almost no benefit

Its free advertising. They want to increase the fanbase, they get airtime on ssn and can be seen to be mixing it with the big boys and so the kidz will be more likely to start paying them attention. Its a business and don't ever forget it

That strategy didn't work very well for the chicken farmers at Blackburn did it? Saying we're gonna sign Ronaldinho and then what happened to them?

Didn't do their business much good.

BLACKPOOL are reported to have rejected an offer from Reading for Tom Ince.

Ince, who has scored 15 goals for the Seasiders this term, has been targetted by Reading boss Brian McDermott.

The offer was believed to be around £7m and falls short of Blackpool’s evaluation.

Speaking before the bid was rejected, McDermott said: “We are waiting for Blackpool to come back to us, we shall see where it goes,” McDermott said.

“He is a Blackpool player so it is difficult for me to comment.

“But he is a player of real quality. He can play in the number 10 role, on the right and the left.

“He has fantastic feet, loves his football, scores goals, creates goals and has got a real hunger about him.

“Having said that, he is a Blackpool player so I wouldn’t normally talk about a player who doesn’t belong to us.

“But he deserves a lot of respect for what he has achieved since leaving Liverpool 18 months ago.”

Yes it is the reading way to shop at poundland. Let's see
If we have another go. At least we would get the feeling that we have
Changed our strategy. Our current squad is waffer thin in quality. Huge games on the way that we must win.

Tokyo Sex Whale
southbank1871 I think anyone doubting the club's appetite for spending serious cash on the right player should probably STFU shouldn't they?

Yeah, when we actually buy a player.

I could go and offer £15m now for a house that's on the market for £25m; doesn't mean I have/or am willing to spend it. It would just placate my nagging wife in the short term as she stupidly thinks I have the intention of buying a huge house.

N.B - I dont have £15m, or a wife. Unfortunately.

For football just replace house with player and wife with mongdiv supporter.

Fyi - that wouldn't actually plac8 a nagging wife.

got a link ?

This would not suprise me. Similar to our last 'huge bids' that were derisory.

Remember when we tried to sign Lescott and Gary Cahill ?

I can confirm that #readingfc bid for Ince HAS NOT been withdrawn - Royals still in the mix, plenty of time to go #bfc http://bit.ly/WLW82g
