He looked very impressive this season but its been a while coming as he hasn't had a prolific season since he first joined Everton (disregarding the spell at Leicester). I wonder what the chances of it being a one off season from a player in decline? I doubt it as the nature of his goals and performances didn't hint that but it was only a last season that he was on loan in the championship  although he looked too good there

Just out of interest, why not? He plays with a smile on his face. Good work rate, accomplished striker at PL level. Only ever here positive things about him. Not on bank busting money at Blackburn either.

This. He's very similar to Jason Roberts and i don't mean that simply because of skin colour. The way they play etc etc

Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem if he was to come and they could link up well rather than trying to do the same job, i'd prefer a speedier striker who offered something a little different but with Yakubu's PL goalscoring record and a pricetag of just £1m you can't complain at all

As long as he isn't THE big signing of the summer I would be very pleased.
Quality player, top attitude, and would be a great role model for ALF, Rhodes, The Sig et al

We can't spend an extortionate amount like that on one player.

Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole were very similar players (and no not skin colour) and that turned out to be one of the best strike partnerships the Premier League has ever seen. Not saying that Roberts and Yakubu will win us the title of course they won't but for some reason everyone seems to think if you have to similar strikers that play in near enough the same way it can't work.

If there is anyone who can make it work we have the perfect manager for it. Roberts and Yakubu would be a force to be reckoned with and I think Blackburn would of had a better chance of staying up had a particular Mr Kean went with these two on a regular basis

He couldn't - the board told him that if Roberts played any more games it would have triggered a clause in his contract meaning more money and that was something they didn't have to hand.

Yakubu would be a fantastic signing, especially at 1-2 million, but obviously WCBAP.

I'd be happy with a front 4 of Yakubu, Roberts, Hunt and Alfie.
