Why do people always look at Doyle goalscoring record?! - his game is more about hold up play and channel runs......its someone like him that ALF would shine alongside - its why Lita did so well for us

Apparently leaving Wolves, fans on their forum reckon he's been dragged down by the team. I think he could still do a job, and be the fulcrum of our attack. Remember how well he used to play in the 4-5-1 up front on his own?

Anyway for £1-1.5 million he could be a bargain?!

Already been mentioned in loads of other threads. Few people want him back as he has had his best days and his goals to games ratio is shocking.
also he is available on a free, so a transfer fee will not be an issue

How is he available for free when his contract is until 2015?

Is he really past his best at 29? Could be a good foil for ALF with HRK and Jobi/Kebe on the wings?

There's no way we'll go for Doyle. Can see McD going for him though.

I suspect we're going to see different types of players coming to Reading now Adkins is in. I don't envisage us having many of the typical 'workhorse' utility players we are so used to as the football is going to change.

Doyle definitely falls into that category.

Only on a free would I have him here. He's not half the player he was when he left here.

Agreed - he has a dodgy knee & is generally riddled with injury most of the time now. Would rather keep Hunt than get Doyle back TBH.

Injury prone, turns 30 at the start of next season, , relegated 2 seasons in a row, scored 27 goals in 135 league appearances in his supposed prime years.

Bit like Sharp, Fox and others being linked with Reading then. Players get linked with their ex-manager all the time.
