MmmMonsterMunch I realise I'm in the minority but I cannot wait for this season. Everyone on here was sick to death with the performances of most of the 1st teamers & were crying out for youth.

Well here you go - you got what you wanted. Now man the fcuk up & get behind them.

I would say half a team of our youngsters playing would be equivalent to a struggling div. 2 side at best. Don't get carried away with the idea that these players are anything like ready or able. yet. Thats a complete phallacy and goes with over-optimistic emotions.

We've still got plenty of senior players. We'll only have 5 of Tanner, Kuhl, Tshibola, Cooper, Sweeney, Griffin, Kelly, Stacey, Edwards and Samuel playing at the same time if there's an injury disaster worse than last season or they prove themselves better options than the senior players. They'll primarily be squad players picking up minutes here and there. one or two may do an obita. Playing him really hurt us last season didn't it.

Ok then. Who is going to score our goals?? Ok we may be in a situation where we have no choice but be prepared for the probability of relegation. All I'm saying is we will struggle massively.

Is that better or worse than being negatively optimistic?

We scored 70 goals last season and ALF only got 15 of them, so probably much the same as then. Maybe a few from Taylor.

If HRK plays the majority of games, say 38-46 I reckon he'll get 15+ goals

Willing to place a wager on that? I'll offer 50 quid to a charity of the winners choice, details are simple - if he plays less than 38 games (up to you if you want to include cup games, I'm happy either way) then the bet is off.

He scores less than 15 goals in those games I win, 15 or more and you win.

Tanner is the business, if anyone out of the young lot is going to get goals it will be him.

Why bet at evens when I can stick £25 EW at maybe 100-1?

I fancied him to do well last season after his excellent goals per minute tally in the Prem.
Hoping last year was a blip (or a niggling injury)

I still believe he can be a top player

If Hal can stay fit, big if, he'll score goals for us.

Personally think he's always going to injury prone though.

Agreed Snowers. There's a really good player hidden away in there somewhere. Just needs some consistency and confidence.

Might be worth a pop to be our top scorer when the odds come out. Depends who we sign I guess.

Betting against snowball like this is costly. It makes shit players world beaters to lose you money.

PS I think Hal is one of those players who has something about them that never quite comes through, but who are good finishers so always rack up a decent number of goals when they play. Even if their performances are a bit shit.

Yeah, I put some money on HRK to be Championship top scorer last season, after his very promising Prem season.
Just looked up the bet on bet365, put £1 at 50/1.

I reckon the odds for this season will be even higher.

He's not even in the betting at the moment. Gary Hooper at 20/1 looks good value.

Suggests the odds will be higher than 150/1. Quite a comedown from 50/1.
150/1 for Nick Blackman, make it 1500/1 and I'd risk 10p.

Short of announcing we're going to score 100 goals and keep 21 clean sheets I can't think of a bolder pre-season statement than this:

I believe in you Nick!
