Lambert would've been excellent but I still think he'd be a bit too similar to Pogrebnyak and Cox and what we need is more variety and pace in behind.

Two other players that are unlikely but might just become available over the summer (but most likely out of our reach) are Darren Bent and Frazier Campbell. I'd even be tempted to take a look at someone like Danny Graham!

Darren Bent is a tw*t, another Danny Guthrie type in the fact he thinks he's a lot better than he is aswell.

Wouldn't mind either of the other two, although Danny Graham has missed a fair few sitters IIRC.

Danny Graham has 15 goals in 89 appearances over the last 3 seasons, and half of those were in the 6 months to Christmas in 2012/13.

No fanx.

A Jason Roberts or Glen Murray type would be good to mix with the younger players breaking through from the Academy and on loan players - someone who knows the Championship. The Yak seemed a risk worth taking and his contribution helped the FA Cup run, it was just replacing a slow Russian with another slow player was never going to change a match momentum.

Lambert would be an insane purchase but would never happen, at worst he'd go to an top half Championship side but I would hedge my bets on him going to a Premier League side.

Would be a good buy for one of the newly promoted sides.

Now that PNE choked it we might be in with a chance of getting Joe Garner?

What about Jermaine Beckford? I know he's 31 and not the sort of name to set the pulses racing but he's got a bit of pace, pretty strong, reasonable goalscoring record at this level, but probably still feels he has something to prove. He's coming off a decent half season with Preston and is out of favour at Bolton.

A bit of experience and probably reasonably cheap.

Noel Hunt of Ipswich, assuming they go up and decide to upgrade their attack

Would be a good signing IMO.

Always looked dangerous and hard working against us and is a pretty versatile too. Would he be too similar to Mackie perhaps?

Yeh, think he's a quicker/better version of Mackie. Would only really be an option if we don't re-sign him.

Hope that's tongue in cheek.

I know I may get hung drawn and quartered for this but Bobby Zamora on a season long contract do better job than Yakubu

He's 28, had a crap couple of seasons, if he's available for under £1m I'd take him. Judging by what they've said they're holding out for £2m+ for him, good luck
