Why did someone take down my Mike Newell topic?

Because posts about film directors don't belong in a football forum

muirinho
maffff Except James Wilson, who Jaap seems to talk about at every opportunity

But - does he bring him up, or is he asked about him?

What Stam clearly does not do, which some previous managers did, ispretend we have no interest in a player when we do. But I dont' think he goes into a presser thinking, must mention that we're interested in James Wilson

Can't swear to that though, we don't get full transcripts of interviews

First time it was raised to him, this time (a month later) it was he that raised it.

What was Stam's response when asked about Moore? I haven't seen the presser.

Not too much really. just said we were trying to build a team and don't intend selling our best players.

Liam Moore - whats the plan?

by paddy20 » 13 Dec 2017 12:33

With all the interest in Liam Moore at the moment it looks possible that he will move in January. What plan do you think the club have? Would they rely on Illori or Blackett? Have they got a replacement lined up? Would they turn down any good offers but have a player that might feel a bit miffed?

I guess the plan is to have another thread discussing the possibility of Liam Moore leaving.

The club are not completely stupid, firstly the chances of him going without getting a like for like replacement in are 0, and the 5m being banded about on some outlets are way short of the mark in todays market, we will put a big price on his head , and if somebody comes in and pays it we wont be able to turn it down.

he definitely won't be sold on the cheap. Bidding would start at 10m I reckon

I guess a lot is up to him. He seems a level headed chap, and has obviously enjoyed working with Stam at Reading. Stam has basically rebuilt his career.

If he has decided the time is right to try the Prem again, then we'd prob have to listen. As it is, I suspect he'll stay to the summer at least

I can't see us selling any top player this window, but in the summer most definitely. I can see us losing Moore and Kelly/Swift then. January will be about bolstering the squad for a late and hopeful play-off push.

The football.london website is reporting that Reading have sold Moore to the Hammers

He wasn't exactly cheap - an initial sum of £13.75million that could rise to £19.5million depending on performances - but he fit the profile of being exactly the sort of assertive, ball-playing enforcer that the Scot was seeking in the window.

Presuming this site to be for comedy effect. Though £13.75m would be very nice and do they want Aluko as well?
