Seaside Royal Coppell being cagey when asked on radio if he has received inquiries re LITA.. he said "I hadn't received any approach but Nicky Hammond would be dealing with that" ... he went on to say "it's going to be a long weekend"

Reading between the lines I think Lita will be gone by Monday although I get the feeling Coppell would be happy to keep all his players.

You missed out the bit about not being aware of any bids to Hammond either.

Royal Lady Long's turn next game then?

Give him a chance! Doyle and Long up front three goals and the Royals on top.Long goes off,we lose all momentum and Palace have more possession for fifteen minutes then they have had all game!

poohs pure where has he gone then?

Apart from deservedly not making today's 16, who cares :|

you do enough to reply

Just pleased that our one league goal a season striker wasn't involved today, especially if it means that someone is prepared to pay us to take him off our wage bill.

Perhaps he injured himself again whilst getting of bed or filming himself before he got up....................

Obviously not enough room for him on the bench, Nhunt has replaced him.

a good source of info about things at the club says £3m to pompey, though the newcastle intrest is strong, but no formal bid as of yet, just an enquiry, hence nothing finalised. He will wait till monday to make his mind up.Didn't see Lita at the game with the rest of the squad in the box today either.

I'd sooner lose Lita than Doyle. For a start, even with lacking goals, Doyle adds more to the team.

Bye then...

Lita to Newcastle? Keegan ain't sharp on defenders but he knows a decent striker when he sees one. No way would he sign Lita.

Idiot.

Lita is not the sort of player Coppell can manage, simple as. Litas ability is simply being restricted by his manager and his style of management . You'll see the right manager get the best out of him, unfortunately that is not Coppell. It happens, doesn't mean he can't and won't be a great player.

Watson being a midfielder wouldn't have helped much then... and keep up. Watson isn't coming near Reading FC for the foreseeable future.

You'll have Mr Madejski crying into his coco talking like that.

Steve Coppell I enquired about Watson, we looked at him. It would be good to sign him, but there is a history with me and so it's unlikely.

Also, what would we do when Marek gets back?

I think the suggestion was a swap deal = i.e. CP short of strikers, so Lita in, Watson out.

Truth be told I'm happy for Lita to go. N Hunt has shown promise, Doyle seems to have found his form again. Mooney will offer us something different and that will leave room for Long to be an impact player off the bench, the role he does best. We don't need Lita and based on the last 12 months since the U21 Euros he has blown too many chances and has a poor attitude. Sell him on.

I think Doyle will stay, I will absolutely gutted if he doesn't. Coppell says there's nothing in the process for him right now so any transfer has to happen entirely in the next 24 hours. Any Premiership club who want him have had all summer to act, so to me it looks like maybe the interest isn't there. What Doyle said earlier is absolutely true too, he would move to the Premiership is he got the chance but if he has to stay here he is the sort of player that will give his all. Also, if a transfer for Doyle was in the pipeline and Coppell was feeding us rubbish, would he still have started today?
