Quotes on Sissoko from Adkins in the Post

“He’s a good young man and the last thing I want to do is jeopardise his future by saying anything about any form of issue.

“I think that’s me being as honest as I can be to try to clarify things.”

You dont have to read too far between the lines to realise that the medical Sissoko had raised issues and obviously the deal we offered took that into account (pay as you play, shortened length of contract etc etc). that would also confirm what the ITK source stated on him......

Deal off - http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... nk-5847364

Adkins said: “Like everything you have to do due diligence in respect of medicals and then you have to make a take on it as to whether it’s the right business to do for the club.

“There was a genuine desire to try to get it done. Unfortunately there was a situation where both parties couldn’t come to an agreement.

“The fact is that at the moment that deal has not happened. That’s not to say it won’t in the future.”

This is hardly news, and the deal maybe on if something changes between the two parties.

So he has dodgy knees which we already knew.

Only joking, innit.

Nothing wrong with foreigners. The Chinese make hard workers, for example.

Sounds a little to me like we've made an offer, he's refused it because he thinks he can do better elsewhere and we've said good luck with that, give us a call if you change your mind.

The quotes regarding not wanting to hinder his future at another club seem to indicate something showed up in the medical that concerned them.

He's dropped him right in it there. Poor Momo. Won't someone just give him £70k a week to play 10 matches! What is the game coming to?

I think it's fair to say he doesn't want to potentially impact the young man's future by alluding an issue that may not exist.

Just to clear that one up

I'm sure you emphathise and will pull in the same direction

Super Kevin Bremner! If you played for Napoli you'd probably live further round the Amalfi Coast in Sorrento or Positano. Maybe even as far round as Capri.

Not sure Napoli would be such a bad team to play for having been to all those places!

Sorrento, Amalfi or Positano a bit boring for a fella in his mid 20s.

Which could be why our offer doesn't meet his expecations.

"I know you think you're worth £Xk a week, but this scan says we'll only pay you £Yk a week."

We do have recent history of not going for players after an iffy medical; Bradley Wright-Phillips anyone?

He then went and joined Charlton and scored a load of goals to help get them promoted....
