RoyalBlue And Madejski has already blown the money that he did get off Anton for his shares? As I said, he could have added the tax paid to his loan. I reckon there's more chance of him getting his loans repaid that way than if HMRC put the club into administration.

From what I was told a couple of months back, Madejski just hasn't got the money let alone the motivation to dip even further into his pockets. He stumped up a similar figure in Q1 that kept HMRC off our backs at a time when the club considered not paying and the prospect of administration and the 10 point deduction that would've ended the fading hopes of the play offs.

Basically he can't afford to keep subing the club whilst the bills are so high and incomce isn't there.

Given that he has told us for years that he would no longer throw money into the club you can hardly blame him. This whole situation has hit him harder than anyone and I hope he does conclude a solid deal ASAP - best way for all concerned.

Jackson Corner Can someone explain how we are 38 million in the red? When he have'nt bought anyone for more than 3 million?

read the accounts
the debts come from loans SJM made to the club to fund its expansion over 20 odd years, and to make it competetive in the championship. which were then transferred to anton, who put in a bit more.

Assuming the bulk of the tax is at the highest rate then £1.6m tax puts our wage bill at around £1.8m every 2 weeks or £46m a year

Because he took all the plaudits (and a Knighthood) and signed the club up to the deal that has left it in this mess! He was also supposedly left in the day to day running of the club over the past couple of years.

So much for the club being so damn well run if he has already had to stump up £1.2M (he got paid how much by AZ?) to the HMRC

HMRC collect VAT as well... so ticket sales would incur VAT as well as anything else the club sell, plus corporation tax (if we make a profit).

On top of this, I wonder if the club have paid their business rates to Reading Council?
