Yep.

The obscurity of playing for the New York Red Bulls alongside Thierry Henry.

Mr Angry We do have recent history of not going for players after an iffy medical; Bradley Wright-Phillips anyone?

Daniel Carrico anyone?

He then went and joined Charlton and scored a load of goals to help get them promoted....

It's about risk of long-term injury, not a prediction of what will happen.

40% risk of sustained periods out, is not a good signing and yet the player has more chance of staying fit than not, so if someone else takes the risk it may pay off. Doesn't mean not taking the risk is wrong.

Failed medical is just a reason to reduce your offer of a fee, or to change the terms of the offered contract to more accurately reflect the risk involved. With clubs it often works, but a player will often baulk at short term pay as u play contracts. That's how we got Carrick so cheap, and also why sissoko hadn't joined. Seems a sensible if frustrating policy to me.

Don`t understand why all the oxf*rd on here are moaning when we signed Micheal Carrick, just what we needed, a creative midfielder who can also tackle and has bags of experience. WCBAP? Clearly not, good work Anton.
