Quartet battle for Austin
Ipswich, Burnley, Blackpool & Saints chase striker
Skysports.com understands Swindon hot-shot Charlie Austin is at the centre of a four-way battle for his services.
Austin has emerged as one of the most sought-after players during this month's transfer window.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 27 appearances this season, handed in a transfer request earlier this month as he looks to secure a move away from the County Ground
Swindon revealed Blackpool had made an enquiry for Austin and now Ipswich, Burnley and Southampton have all joined the chase for his services.
The Robins have reluctantly agreed to cash in on their prize asset and are believed to be close to agreeing a fee with all four clubs.
Austin is now thought to have been given permission to hold talks with the interested clubs as he looks to tie up a move before Monday's transfer deadline.

cant really say that, he may have cost them up to £1.5m and may turn out to be a championship flop!

I have had the feeling all along that he wouldn't want to join us especially after we chose Church as the better option a few years ago.

Many have seen Charlie Austin as "worth a punt" as he has consistently scored goals at League 1 level. The moment he signs for someone else however, he will assume the mantle of potentially the greatest striker the World has seen since Eusebio, and clear evidence that Reading have no ambition, etc etc etc.
