kwik-silva I've always thought that Drenthe looks constantly lively, and one of the reasons we lacked creativity was his subbing on Sunday.

But I think that's just me.

Lively but very ineffective. I was particularly disappointed on Sunday. And Ian is right as he looked a certainty to get sent off if he had not been subbed.

Drenthe, as I've said before, thinks he's better than he actually is.

I think Drenthe may well,at times, be as good as he thinks he is.
The trouble for him is that the other players aren't Ajax, Real Madrid or even Everton so they and he have to learn to play together.
He and some of the others from that same excellent Dutch U21 side may not be as good as they appeared at the time.

You'd have thought by now he'd have learnt to play in a team. Pass when it's harder to score for example. Oh well..................

Sky Sports reporting what we all already know. "Reading End Interest in Sissoko" which translates to - he won't come here fro the money we are offering...

This news is not a big disappointment for me. I do hope Nige finds the right team balance soon though. I am getting fed up of watching turgid football but..C'mon U Rz

I suspect it's more the terms than the money. Adkins made it pretty obvious there is a big question over his fitness in some way, and therefore we're going to have offered him some form of pay as you play whilst he'll clearly want more guaranteed earnings. I wouldn't have wanted another player spending more time having treatment than playing (3 has been far too many in the last year) so perhaps this has ended in the best way.

He's reminding me a bit of early Kebe, who looked great but produced diddly squat for quite a while. Either that or Mass Sarr, who looked great and then ate himself into an enomous jelly baby.

Maybe we should stop f/cking about with these old, unfit has-beens that want more money than we would ever pay and sign a cunting striker.

If he's fit and is affordable, why aren't we signing him?

If he's not fit and/or not affordable, why waste time with it? Time spent tossing about with this dude on deadline day could have been spent securing a player we actually need and can afford.
