Seen that Tommy Elphick is having a torrid time at Villa...could we afford his wages?

Dennis the Butler Not to mention Trevor Senior, Kerry Dixon, Martin Butler, Kevin Doyle and Shane Long .. possibly the most successful group of strikers in Reading's recent history with three of the group going on to play international football for their country and to my memory all came from lower league clubs with none of them costing big bucks !

Butler cost big bucks for the time.

Casimir Ninga from Montpellier. It might make up for not signing Kodjia when we should have (not speaking in hindsight either).

Rudy Gestede

Don’t think he’s getting much playing time at Boro though he scored today

I could not believe the summer signings given the shortfalls in the squad but - given the current league position, squad and how January window works the board would be mad to give 1p for Stam and Tevereden to spend.

The squad is good enough to avoid relegation (if managed by someone else) - any spending should be limited to the incoming from sales as a maximum (and I would not even give that shower this to spend).

Dreaming of all these players coming in is crazy - get real......

Get what you have got working better - save the money for next year - if they cannot avoid relegation with what we have they will do no better with a couple more buys in January (no one decent would come to Reading at the moment anyway).

Same as Kitson, I believe 750K.

And interesting that Kitson wasn’t included in DtB’s list. For me the most complete striker I’ve seen for Reading.

Kits was an initial £300k rising to about £750 on promotion to PL, I think. Agree on his quality... if only he'd taken a slightly more professional and dedicated approach to training, he might have picked up fewer injuries and played for England. Although, I spose there's not much he could have done about Riggott's challenge, which really nobbled him.

Think DK’s problem was, that he just couldn’t not get involved.

As a striker, he could’ve just hung around the halfway line (Curo stylee)....but no, not our Dave....he mixed it amongst the biggest and best in defence.
As a striker he got wiped-out a few times too.......Prestons Carlo Nash anybody?....think he remained daft as a brush for a few games after that one.

Remains one of my all-time favs....much more than just a goalscorer....where have all of those kind’ve players gone?

Cycle Larin from Orlando City.

Fast, strong, tall and knows where the goal is

I support Orlando and have followed Larin for the last few seasons. He has got so many offers from top clubs such as Besiktas, benfica etc. It’s expected he’ll go to besiktas to replace Tosun who’s gone to Everton.

Connor Goldson on loan from Brighton would be fantastic, I’d also keep an eye on the Clarke situation at Newcastle, could go in the summer with new owners

Jack Marriott from Peterborough would be a great shout.

23 goals in 36 games this season (17 in 26 in League One), 23 years old.

Like the look of him but Peterborough are great at selling players, he’d probably be overpriced.
