Did you go to the Bolton game Fridayghost??

I still reckon we will pull out a striker nobody has heard of. Something completely unexpected like Drenthe, Bridge and Williams!

FridaysGhost With our current squad, we have a relegation strike-force!

No. No we don't.

Don't be absurd. Why else do you think we're firmly rooted in the relegation zone with a GD of -2 and no points after 2 games.

LoyalRoyal22 Surely we are close to signing a striker. Would be interesting to see who our targets are.

I would be utterly unsurprised to see Paddy Madden in our starting line up next month.

Why Paddy Madden of all people? I mean he's very good and I'd be happy with him, but have there even been any rumours about him joining us? It seems unlikely, anyway.

They have no money- yet have a sudden and urgent need for a goalkeeper (Stech broke his hand on Saturday).

Their top scorer (and last years L1 golden boot winner) is by all accounts I hear, not terribly happy...got subbed off again on Saturday- and not gracefully. If the relationship is breaking down, I can see us putting in a quick bid...and maybe let one or two go the other way on loans...

Call it a bit of lateral thinking...

No, don't we have a less effective one we could loan them? Feds must stay, we cannot expect McCarthy to never be ill injured or have a waiver of form.

Apparently we're not close on any new signings at the moment. Players we are looking at are budget signings as well, so forget big spending thoughts.

Impression I have is that we'll do naff all until the last few days of the window and then only if other deals happen to let us move. Here we go again, same old Reading, same old "ambition".

FridaysGhost I would love to see a Michu come to Reading, someone who no-one else has heard of but, the truth is, we have already missed the boat and we are likely to still be in the Championship next Season

Why do people think Michu was such a suprise? He was the top scoring midfielder from la liga or something the season he left for swansea, its not like they plucked him from the oxf*rd ukrainian 3rd division.

Just noticed that Bournemouth are keen on Terence Boyd. Looks to be a decent striker for USA.

Could be useful for us. Williams could have a good say in persuading him.

Thoughts.

It all hinges on what happens with Pog and we are bluffing it out with Kazan who want to pick him up for fcuk all.

Memory says he cost 2m and, at the time, very few people in England (which includes millions of CM13 players) knew much about him or what an impact he might make. As you obviously knew all about him, perhaps you should have mentioned that to us and the club before Swansea bought him!

Still think that there could be a lot more changes before the window ends - probably more outgoing than incoming.

Federici - I just cannot see him being happy to sit on the bench. He is now definitely number 2 and any offer of say 2M that guarantees he will be first choice and he will be off. Also why would the club sign Henly as cover and then sign Taylor as well if we expected Fed to stay. Surely we don't need four keepers at this level as a loan from a PL club is fairly easy to get in an injury crisis.

Mariappa - really surprised to see him dropped as I thought he was the best CB last season but I think Adkins prefers larger CB's and he is only 5-10 - be it with a lot of spring. I could see him off for 3.5M if the rumours are true.

Leigertwood- Will be 5th choice. If he recovers in time I could see him gone or if not then out on loan as soon as he is fit.

Kebe - I think any offer over 1.5M and he will be off. Again if he stays it could be a frustrating season on the bench for him.

Pog - the fact we are not playing him means he is off for sure. Probably to Rubin Kazam for anything between 0 and 3M but will save us millions in wages.

Our squad would then number 20 plus the youngsters. I think we might add a CB and a striker but that is about it unless Roberts really will not play again in witch case 2 strikers might arrive. We should bring in 8M or so from these sales but I doubt we will spend a significant fee this window - but I fully expect Anton to save his pennies and add in January if the players need help.

That's a few times you've said something that's ended up in the local rag a day or so later. So who's your contact at GetReading?

Rumour posters on the new Reading rumours website should be forced to have user names that way we can keep a track of how much bullshit they put up there
