Well, no-one has a sniff of it up here in the Leicester slums. Would be shocked if it happens. Shocked but delighted, he's a great player...

Really? Waghorn? Not impressed by this 'rumour' at all. Maybe I'm seeing something that others don't, but he's seemed very average when I've seen him. And he's 5ft 7'? If we're after a targetman (to replace Long, like for like) then I'd be hoping for a few more inches (Story of my life...)

Also do my eyes deceive me or has 1Berks’ drivel been purged from the system at last – if so hallelujah.

I hate to spoil the celebrations but I doubt he is gone - he's probably at school!

Try searching for any previous posts M9...they're all gone. Even the one he posted earlier in this thread

From what I've seen of him he's probably about as 'like for like' as you can get for Shane Long...

That as maybe, shouldn't we be going for something that offers a bit 'different' rather than Long 2.0?

Good point, we never signed a Gylfi 2.0 so why do it with any other important player that leaves.

Sign up Macheda for a year on loan I say

Surely we already have 'different' types of strikers in hunt, church and manset. If we replace long with like for like then we can continue to play the same system and hopefully have the same success.

Also Macheda on a year loan?!!?!? Have you been to planet earth recently?

Yes, I have been to planet earth, where I learnt the subtle art form of sarcasm.

Coppell's Right Footed 11 Afternoon.

I have been informed that we had a bid accepted around the £2 million mark for Martyn Waghorn of Leicester.

He is currently on holiday, although is set to sign a 4 year deal when he returns on Monday and will complete the formalities of a medical.

Young, pacy, strong and a decent scoring record at this level.

Will fit in well as Longs potential replacement.

This deal will be completed tommorow then yeh?

I would prefer James Coppinger from Doncaster, he was great against us.

Really? Do you guys watch football. He never wins a header but is a high-energy forward who runs the channels well. Needs to improve his end product but a good player.

Won most of his headers in the two full games I've seen him in against big centre backs! Must just be inconsistent then..
