Starting to think maybe we should pursue this rather than the Sunzu deal. By the looks of it, unless it can be agreed that Sunzu's contract has expired and is now available on a free, we'll probably be paying about the same for either player. I'd presume Davies would want higher wages than Sunzu, but Davies does have Premier League experience.

I read that Davies is on £28k a week, not sure he is worth that so could be a stopping point for us.

72 bus
SPARTA Sunzu will be under pressure to stay in the top flight.

Why? He has never played in the top flight and from what I have seen so far, probably never will
Davies is a far better player with a lot of experience, whereas Sunzu isn't even sharp enough to know who owns his contract.
Surprised he even managed to find his way over for a trial on his own, no wonder he needs "handlers"

Because the media back home are telling him we aren't good enough for him and he should be aiming a lot higher - Rogic #2. Can you imagine what they'll be saying if we go down?

Honest question, is he better than what we've got? If not, I can't see him being happy to warm the bench of a probable relegation destined team.

I'd say he's on a par with Mariappa from what I've seen. I'd be very happy with any of Pearce / Mariappa / Davies at the back, Morrison coming through (could do with a Championship loan to work on his decision making and experience), and I have no idea what to make of Sunzu...

Yes. One of the best in the Championship last season, along with Ben Turner, James Tomkins, Hull's pairing and our pairing.

He was immense at our place and a big reason why Birmingham's defensive record was so good last season.

However, bear in mind that Tomkins and Gorkss didn't make the step up very well. I reckon Davies is better than either though. Probably better than Pearce even.

Agreed. Davies has proven his standard in plenty of fairly high standard matches. We know so little about Sunzu. I really don't get why we're so desperate to get him.

A fair question mate. Tbh except for Reading in the last couple of years no not as much as some here it seems hence the dumb Qs re: other players!

I work about a billion hours a week (give or take an hour or two). I'm a nerd you see ;)

Looks like we're in for £1million for this guy, seems that the Sunzu deal looks unlikely now… to be honest I'd rather have this guy, with a bit of PL experience under his belt unless Sunzu was available on a free...

The Mirror's football rumour approach is the same as Kes; throw enough shit out there and some of it will stick. Their record is terrible
