TheSiege
Ideal It's funny, it's been two years and nobody actually thinks we need a left-footed left wing, it would really make a difference to our attacking threat.

Do you mean the Management or the rest of us? I have been suggesting left-sided attacking players quite consistently!

I choose to consistently ignore your suggestions

Hardly anybody uses wingers on their favoured side anymore. Full backs still play on their "right" side so it makes more sense to go inside and attack their weaker foot. It gives your own full back more of a chance to overlap as it creates more space. Easier to shoot, crosses only need the slightest touch as they swing in rather than out, I could go on.

Michael Dawson, has been linked with a move away from spurs, he would be expensive but definitely the class we need. If we failed to get him then I'd go for Matt Upson on loan for the rest of the season, he is a bit past it but has more premier league experience and IMHO he is the best centre back I've seen play for Reading. Another good shout at CB would be curtis davies. Also I think we need another centre midfield player Tom Huddlestone was linked with Stoke in the summer so he'd be the quality we need in the middle, a similar player to Legs but a class above. I know we've got improved all over the pitch but getting two solid experienced players in two key roles as centre back and centre mid then we'll improve a lot and will have a good chance of staying up. Then in the summer we can improve a few more positions, if we stay up.

Thanks. I think.....

Yeah he is a long shot but worth a go. We should aim high and see what happens. He isn't wanted at spurs and he has been linked with southampton today which is probably rubbish.

Quite depressing seeing Sidwell and Long on the bench for other teams, when they would make a huge difference to our starting XI

Expect Sidwell to be a target in January. Cheap, within our means, and an area we clearly need to improve in and he's a player that would understand what Brian wants. It doesn't mean we'll get him, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't on our radar.

I was going to say similar. I found it interesting how on BBRB yesterday, they mentioned more than once about Sidwell rejoining, and even asked Shorey if he was trying to tap him up.

Sounds like one of the worst kept targets in recent memory if so! Now, lets go get Long, Sonks, Doyle, Stephen Hunt, and anyone else still playing at a half decent level back as well.....

I would go to spurs and take the out of AVB favour, Michael Dawson and try to take Sidwell from Fulham for a start, with a couple of others maybe on loan, who they would be........... heaven knows

By removing our dependable captain who happens to be the most creative player for us both this season and last? It certainly would make a difference to our attacking threat... a negative one probably.

Agree with the shouts for Sidwell if he was available at a reasonable price. Very creative with his passing even if it is only a 6 yard pass as shown on saturday for Berbatov's goal.

Also think Arshavin playing in behind Pog would be great might be worth a go depending on his wage demands. Recent performances would suggest his best position is not out on the wings.

Sidwell is a brilliant shout and very realistic aswell.

I still feel we need to bolster the defence and upfront aswell.

We now need 4 new players, 2 new center backs, a Right back and center midfielder who can pass and defend.

Worryingly I actually agree with this. We're fine going forward, we have problems CM and defence. Of the above, I'd say RB is least needed as I think Cummings is better than most ppl think.

I disagree. We need two centrebacks, a right back, two midfielders, three new coaches and a new manager.
