TBM
RoyalBlue As feared/predicted here we go:

From Charles Watts

The latest I'm hearing is that it may well just be the one in for Reading today.

Royals are working hard on getting a £1.5 million deal for Glenn Murray over the line.

But it appears unlikely that anyone else will follow.

Reading's chase for Dean Hammond looks to have been unsuccessful and I understand they have missed out on another target to a Premier League club.

We are nearly 11 hours away from this evening's deadline, and it might not be as busy a day as Reading fans were hoping for.

Time will tell.

Also. we have apparently had a bid turned down by QPR for their left back, Yun Suk-Young!! If we wanted one of their players why the f*ck didn't we make the McCarthy deal conditional upon it?!! Instead we appear to have let them get what they wanted and then gone back with ' Oh, we forgot to mention, we would like to buy Yun Suk-Young, how about it?'.

We put the bid in on Friday, apparently, when McC went the other way

We should have held out on McCarthy, particularly with other clubs apparently showing a late interest, unless they played ball on Yun Suk-Young.

kwik-silva The "JUST SIGN SOMEONE" crowd are the worst, I never understand why clubs have to sign players on the last day if they've tried to do all their business within the window.

That said, with Reading we probably need to sign someone.

We need a striker, but aside from that we'll have a very strong squad once we get a few back fit. If we signed 3/4 today then the youngsters wouldn't get even close to a look in later in the season.

I'd take short term LB cover in the loan window too, but I think you're right.

@NabilHassan79 51s
Looks like just the one player in at #readingfc - Glenn Murray from Crystal Palace. Move dependent on deals elsewhere. #bbcdeadlineday

So if Palace sign Doyle, we sign Murray... simple enough, except we're Reading FC..

#Readingfc had two other targets, but one is set to join Premier League club and the other a top team in Europe apparently

At least we were going for realistic targets then...

Palace seem to be linked to every striker outside the prem atm. a deal for Murray would depend on who they buy as they may use Murray as a make shift.

With Warnock the manager, do you expect anything than Palace buying up every striker available!!!

Assuming we get Murray..

Sold 3 players i was personally happy to lose, could have been much worse

Murray/Norwood good transfer fees, both add realy quality

Cox and Mackie mediocre, improve squad depth

Ferdinand.. MEH :|

Just hope we get the Murray deal over the line.

I'm off to work. See you all in about 6 1/2 hours.

Figure we'll bring in a striker (80% chance) and that'll be about it. Just hope no one of note goes out (namely Obita). Maybe we'll find some sucker to take Drenthe off our hands...

Seeing as the take over doesn't really seem legit, forgetting the boring/shit signings we have made, i would be really happy with Norwood and Murray. Just hope they work on extending contracts once the window has closed.

Happy so far with:

Norwood, Mackie & Cox.

Ferdinand - needs time and games before I can cast a verdict.
Murray - would also be another good addition.

Slightly peeved we haven't added to our defensive options but hey ho.
